That same 247Sports a**clown Bobby Burton was spewing "reports" that Fisher to Texas was a done-deal. I wonder what he's "feeling" right now knowing that he's wrong. He probably feels great now that he's got a few extra hundred-thousand in his pocket.

Just heard that Charlie Strong said this was not correct. No confirmation from Louisville.

Not saying they're wrong but 247 has a horrid track record when it comes to these things.

Yup. But Strong to Texas makes MUCH more sense than Fisher to Texas.

I like their recruiting information. They absolutely SUCK A** when it comes to conference alignment and coaching hires. So, basically they have no knowledge of anything not directly related to recruiting.

I would rather see TJ go the route with someone who is familiar with the ACC than go with BP. I don't know who is next, but the OC at Clemson should be getting some looks from schools soon, and the DC at FSU not to mention others out there that I can not think of their names currently.

RE: Texas hires Strong
What seems to make UofL a stepping stone job? I would think heading into the ACC with a good team that is on a roll, Coach Strong would want to stay. Could it be that he see's the team regressing competitively with the loss of Teddy Bridgewater and some other good seniors and he wants to cash his chips in while he's winning? One thing I think hurts UofL is the very small fan base. It is tough to stroke a coach's ego when he can't get 70,000+ thousand fans into a stadium to watch him. All coach's want that kind of limelight. As a UofL fan, I know the last 4 head coaches have all complained about game attendance and fans at some point in their coaching stint. Can that be a part of the decision to move on? Is that a common theme across college football regardless? Or, is the problem that UofL either can't or won't match the money that Texas is willing to pay?

If coach strong leaves I wish UofL could find a coach with Louisville, Kentucky or UofL ties. I don't think there is much of a pool out there to choose from in those categories.

I wouldn't worry about Louisville being a stepping stone job. Y'all were shelling out $3.7 million to your coach. That's enough to keep your coach from just about any one. What I said to UNC fans in 1997, if Texas wants your football coach, they're going to get him. It doesn't matter how committed you've been to him.

Reminds me of when Kansas took VT's women's basketball coach. There was really nothing we could do.

The thing is every job in College Football is a Stepping Stone job...if Tennessee can lose a coach to USC-(Kiffin) or Oklahoma State can lose a coach to LSU-(Miles) or WVU can lose a coach to Michigan-(RichRod) or Wisconsin can lose a coach to Arkansas-(Bret Bielema) it is what it is.

Trust in Jurich to make the right decision-(as long as it is not Cutcliffe at Duke...terrible fit)...the obvious choice is Petrino....the other I would watch is Morris at Clemson.

well ESPN has said they've agreed on terms, but that Strong would meet with Louisville officials today before anything is official. I would guess that is a chance for him to say thank you for the opportunities and/or give them a chance to sweeten their deal.

Though the impression I got from that Strong-Bridgewater hug near the end of the bowl game last week looked like yeah love this but we're both out of here!

There is a tweet out there about UL considering Cutcliffe, if/when Strong bolts. Inside the Ville, I think... Also a Blue Devil tweet...

UL fans, what would you think?

Jason Higdon is the only media person that has a relationship with Strong...follow him...word here is that he is truly undecided.

More like a Petrino or Chad Morris before Cutcliffe at Louisville.
