I kept flipping back and forth between the Orange and Cotton Bowls, both were very interesting. Nice win for Mizzou and it must have felt weird and satisfying for them to beat an old Big 12 foe in this marquee bowl game.

Kind of ironic that a Big 12 team went down to New Orleans and beat an SEC team in the SEC's traditional Flagship bowl, and then an SEC team went to Dallas and beat a Big 12 team in the Big 12's (traditional, before this Fiesta nonsense) Flagship bowl.

The Cotton Bowl was the SWC's flagship bowl from the 40's to 1994. The Orange Bowl was the Big 8's flagship bowl from 1968 to 1994. After the Big 12 was created, the Fiesta Bowl was their flagship bowl with the Cotton Bowl getting another Big 12 team.

Our traditional bowl was always the Orange.

Well actually the Cotton Bowl never has been the Big12 flagship bowl. It has always been the Fiesta since the Big12 was formed. Proir to the Big8 inviting the Texas schools to join them, it was the Orange Bowl.

Anyone can see that the Cotton Bowl is a player. Most people for a bowl game outside of the Rose Bowl. Jerry World is an awesome venue. I was blown away... that was all the way big time.
