Al Golden and Penn State?
Per Miami radio I heard Golden wasn't talking to or returning calls from anybody at Miami. Per multiple reports Golden is one of PSU's top candidates. Per a tweet by Rivals (or somebody) he's been offered the job.

Any insight?

RE: Al Golden and Penn State?
From what I've heard he's holding a team meeting tonight and will be announced as PSU's HC early next week.

RE: Al Golden and Penn State?
Per whom?

It honestly might be good news if he leaves. Then Miami could hire a recently fired NFL guy like Chudzinski or Schiano, or an up-and-comer like Franklin. I suppose someone like Mullen would be a good hire as well. I don't think Miami (or PSU for that matter) needs to go the coordinator route and hire someone like Chad Morris.

According to Phil Groz publisher of BWI, sources tell him Penn St has offered the job to Al Golden and he believes Golden will accept

I hope he doesn't because I think he could build Miami up again. Also hope this doesn't screw up their top 5 class if he does leave, I am confident Miami still has the prestige to get a great coach either way, but Golden seems like a good fit especially enduring the scandal.

BWI is Blue and White Illustrated, I believe. If they aren't still, they used to be either a Rivals or Scout site. They're the site I referenced earlier. But the only ones I'd seen at the time reporting it.

Not sure he's capable of returning Miami back to the national elite or not. But if he leaves, as long as Miami doesn't f up the hiring process they'll get a good replacement. Maybe they won't get an upgrade but I don't think Franklin, Schiano, Chudzinski, etc would be considered downgrades, either (maybe Chudzinski due to lack of HC experience?).

If I were Miami, I would replace him with Bobby Petrino.

That would be bad news for Pitt recruiting. Golden would probably hire Pitt Wr coach (and one of Pitt's best re recruiters) Engram too......

RE: Al Golden and Penn State?
Looks like two coach opening in the league next year...at this point I would be mildly surprised if both Golden and Strong are at their current jobs. At this point if Strong is not the Coach at Texas that likely means Fisher went to Texas and that ain't happening.

With the Canes would not be surprised if they made a run at Franklin or Schiano...with Louisville best guess is Petrino or try to throw the bank at Smart...just guesses though.

CaneSport has confirmed that Al Golden has been offered the head coaching job at Penn State. While expected to take it, no word yet from Al

RE: Al Golden and Penn State?
I'd go with Petrino at Miami. With all that SFL talent he would do a fantastic job. Between the humbling in the NFL and the humbling at Arkansas. I think he is ready to settle in for the long haul somewhere. I am not sure if Jurich would trust him again. But he would be a good choice at Louisville too. Assuming they lose Strong, and I am not at all convinced that will happen.
