UAB didn't play. Nothing for our fans to celebrate.

It is a game played by the next closest semi-local team. A team that many local fans would like to see lowered a peg. Last night's game will provide quite a bit of peace in the office for the next 6 months. I say "Go Sooners !"

I slept very well last night.

Understand that this resentment towards another institution in the same system is not unique to us. A ton of universities in the University of California system hate each other. UCLA would love to throw a ton of money at Jim Mora right now to keep him going to Texas, but what if UC Riverside needs a new library?

Speaking of Texas, I wonder how UTEP and UTSA feel about the Austin campus.

I'm a UAB fan and alum that loves it when uat's football team loses. This is a UAB fan site, but a lot of times you sure are a starky stick in the mud.

Even the ladies are getting into it now. I wonder if Nick & Terri are seeing if they can afford to go Texas after all

The Texas thing got Nick Saban a raise to $7.5 million for 2014. I guess we showed him who is "Boss". With almost 20 of ESPN's Top 300 already committed to Bama for the NSD next month, he is probably not overly concerned to have lost their last two games. Could it be that it even helped Bama's recruiting?

If it helped our recruiting, I will feel you might have a point in your celebrations of Bama's defeats. Otherwise, the fun of poking the system BOT in the eye by cheering their loss may not do UAB a lot of good when they meet next month. They seem to cast pro Blazers as being anti Crimson Tide so it may just make their case easier in Alabama when we can be seen as delighting in their defeats.

I have learned that the more they lose, the more likely they are to fork out more money to make sure that they don't lose again & that they get the top player over the other school.

I believe the next Gene Jelks could be Yeldon.

If his playing time diminishes next year, someone will be rather disgruntled.
