I'm guessing neither Bethune nor Cookman wants to ever visit the Midwest again.

I just wish I had a Bethune-Cookman gameday T-shirt. (Better make that a sweatshirt).

Your original comment was "The teams in the MEAC Conference have done very well over the years in the NCAA Tourney." Now you say you think "Hampton may have one (sic) a game."

Please check out the link provided by DogTracks. Since 1981 MEAC schools went 0-15 in NCAA appearances until 1997 when Coppin State had a first-round upset before getting eliminated. All told, the MEAC has been knocked out right away in 26 of 31 tournaments -- and that includes being 2-7 in "preliminary round" contests. The MEAC has never had more than one NCAA participant and no MEAC program has gotten to a third game.

As sub-par as MAC basketball has been recently, even our league isn't this bad. Bottom line, Northern Illinois should beat this opponent and there's no reason to make them sound better than their record.

Good news...14-16 from the FT line. Bad news...Nine first half turnovers and eight offensive rebounds to a really bad team.

Uiniu57, the post was really about should a win count. For being in the MEAC with their budgets they have done well in the NCAA Tourney. The conference probably has played a 1 or 2 seed every time.

According to their website they are 2-14. Not that it really matters. 03-phew

He means 0-14 according to the RPI. RPI doesn't count D-II wins. We are 5-6.
