From 1994-2001, Priefer coached special teams at the collegiate level, working for Navy (1994-96), Youngstown State (1997-98), Virginia Military Institute (1999) and Northern Illinois (2000-01).

Priefer’s instruction at Northern Illinois helped WR Justin McCareins earn MAC Special Teams Player of the Year honors. In addition to assisting the Huskies’ special teams, Priefer coached DTs during his 2 seasons at NIU.

It is amazing and shocking how many coaches and players I talk to still feel the same way as ex NIU coach Priefer does. Thank God he is an ex NIU coach.

It is not just a football thing. Many people are anti-gay. Maybe not to the level of killing them but this is not a minority position in the world.

Kluwe's a pretty thoughtful guy. I don't doubt Preifer is the kind of ******* who says the things Kluwe says he said. Football seems to be a refuge for that kind of backwards *******.

That said, I think punishing Kluwe's non-football-conformist opinions and interests was more of a handy side benefit to finding someone who does what Kluwe does only cheaper.

Kluwe is a loud mouth kicker (a kicker) on a losing team. Keeping your mouth shut works well when you are not Adrian Peterson or a star. He can talk all he wants now in the unemployment line.
