UCF Football Players Were Recruited to C-USA
Not the American Athletic Conference, so lets keep this in mind as we cheer our programs on that our schools can continue to excel on the Football Field despite what some writers have to say about us! 2-2 for C-USA 3.0 in the 2013-2014 Bowl Season.
Lets not forget we bring in 8-4 WKU and 8-4 ODU. We also return 8 win MTUSU, 9 win North Texas, 10 win Marshall and 10 win Rice teams and then lets remember we had two teams who didn't go bowling this season 6-6 FAU and 7-5 UTSA
There are some good days ahead for this conference friends! We can still kick some ass and take some names!
Hopefully my Golden Eagles get back on track this season too

Southern Miss can't stay down too much longer. Too much of a proud football program to stay on the current course. Good luck to you guys next year.

Like I stated in another thread, CUSA has not gotten the respect it deserves. Think about how many teams that were in this conference have gone on to play in BCS games.

Many of the players that played tonight were around for our wins against Georgia and Ball State, as well as the CUSA Championship appearances. I'm grateful for the time we had in CUSA, it was truly awesome.

Congrats Knights, although you're obviously not in CUSA anymore, your team flourished here, and has grown more than most could've dreamed. Cudo's to your fans, and your team. Seems to me that you'll be leaving behind the CAA before all others if you don't hit a bump in the road. Bortles is an amazing QB, you had better hope he comes back, although I'd bet a bunch of $$'s that he doesn't, great player. GL in the future, glad to see your team put a whippin' on one of the "big, deserving" teams.

Congrats to the Knights. I can remember when most of you were ripping O'Leary a new one on this board. Goes to show you fans don't know squat concerning what goes on with coaching.

As much as I hate their arrogant fans, UCF has taken it to the next level, capitalized on their resources, been aggressive in growing the program and have seen their efforts pay off. I give them kudos for that.

Yeah, while O'Leary was going 4-8 multiple times well into his tenure. Most of your fans were ripping Bower for those awful 7-6 seasons.

Sure they were... and your reigning national champ in basketball was in CUSA, too. But that was CUSA. This board is for impostor CUSA, an organization that shares nothing of importance with real CUSA

Before we start singing songs of praise for UCF and all those players they recruited to play in C-USA, let's not overlook that they sought the fast track to fame and glory in both football and basketball and were caught.

I wonder when the "we'll be fine" crap will finally stop. I'm thinking that South Alabama's second Sugar Bowl bid might be the event that finally gets the message across. Y'all just watched UCF win the Fiesta Bowl. Tulane got moved up in front of us. If USM were worth a damn, we'd be building a felony case against Shelby Thames and building new facilities. Chickenshit thinking is what got us here and it will have us rubbing elbows with Southland Conference teams before long.

There is more than one way to coach a team. Many of us didn't think GOL was the guy to take us to the next level. I am happy to say we were wrong. During the last two weeks GOL had direct interaction with the defense and the interim coach Tyson Summers. The players seemed to appreciate his mentoring and responded in kind.
But we all appreciated CUSA giving us the opportunity to play at a higher level. I think we represented CUSA well. It's not our fault the college football is run by the P5 and ESPN. I still enjoy watching CUSA teams play.

Those recruiting violations did not impact a single enrolled player on that roster that won. Good bait

Nice win. That said, the rug gets pulled out next year and no autobid for what ever crap they set up in the post season. At least you got a taste before it got all mixed up. Not saying you won't be there in the inclusion bowl next year, too, but at least CUSA gets a chance to dethrone you guys.

LOL
What a stupid thing to say.
Our last AD got caught up with some idiots from Chicago and 99% of the infractions were on the basketball side. The football involvement was limited to ONE interaction with ONE coach, and that coach was immediately fired. And it didn't put a single actual player on the field that helped this team win.
UCF self imposed its' own harsh penalties and we had the bowl ban lifted as it was ridiculous.
Nice try.

RE: UCF Football Players Were Recruited to C-USA
The C-USA recruits of yesteryear are not the C-USA recruits/commits that are coming in through today unfortunately. With the upcoming years, opportunities of playing in big bowls are less, the short-term competitiveness is low in this conference (Try beating Southern Miss/ECU/Houston/Tulsa from 2005-2010), and the image of the conference has no identity...yet. It's kind of what happened with the AAC this year but we sort of pulled it together.
I do hope for the best of C-USA, I was a fan, and still am a fan...But as there is work to do in the AAC, there's a lot more to be done with C-USA. Don't let it down.

wow. a guy posts a rational, optimistic thread about the fact that a team that was built in c-usa winning a bcs bowl, and people phuck it all up.
