Take UCF and that beatdown of baylor and remain in the aac. Change your name and you might get a spot in a power conference. LOL
Congrats on the win. I didn't think a mid-major could pull it off but I'm happy tonight.

Wow, could you be more condescending? Typical. Maybe it's because mid-major is a basketball term used to denigrate those not "in the club". AAC not mid-major this year according to the dumb, dumb rules you live by.

Remind me again what BCS bowl tie-in the aac had this year? The Rose? The orange? The Sugar
The Fiesta was forced to take the aac champ and beat a chump. I'm happy for Central Florida. Fortunately they can change their name and get rid of the commuter status. Uh will always be UH and be thought of as coog high.
So yes I can be more condescending.

People will start to recognize UCF without a name change. Putting a good product on TV for all home conference games will help.

Had the name once, then dropped it. Now another school has it and UCF can't go back. So UCF it is. Now if we could just get the Ent. & Sports Network to use UCF instead of C. Florida, we'll be just fine.

RE: Kudos to Central Florida
UCF (and it's always UCF for short) beat 2 top 10 teams, and nearly beat a 3rd. How many teams can say that this year?
The only thing UCF is guilty of is not blowing out allegedly inferior teams. UCF just wins. Vegas might not like that. Analysts might not like that. But "Ws" are what matter ... especially in a (real) playoff system.
And, BTW ... teams do not "blow out" UCF. No one has "blown out" UCF since 2009. And yes, that's includes a great number of P5 and contests against ranked teams.

I wasn't going to do this but after the Beat down applied to Baylor and the media's treatment of the AAC. If UCF wanted a name change then make it Florida University or FU. Lol!

I am sure if any school in a g5 conference was told an invite to a P5 conference hinged ona name change it would be done in short order. There is simply too much money at stake.

UCF is now 1-0 in BCS Bowl games as is the AAC. The ACC is 3-13.

RE: Kudos to Central Florida
The enormity and significance of UCF's season and BCS win cannot be understated. This is humongous. Humongous for the UCF program. Humongous for AAC. For AAC as a conference, UCF's season and BCS bowl victory cancel out all the previous failures of its previously touted goals. Without question, UCF's season and BCS victory is not only a program defining moment but a conference defining moment.
As an reminder, UCF built its program within CUSA. CUSA, evidently, did not hold the Knights back...as many AAC invitees claim concerning their own programs. Both UCF, the nation's second largest school, and Tulsa, the smallest school playing IA football, both enjoyed a lot of success in CUSA. Ditto for Boise State in the then perceived conference weakling of WAC.
