In 2004, their last year in the MAC, UCF did not win a game, now they are nationally rank and just defeated the #6 team in the nation. I suspect the rapid rise in their football (and basketball) fortunes have left their fans a bit off balance and like a lot of "nouveau riche", a bit insufferable----kind of like Marshall's success during the Pennington-Leftwich era after their return to the MAC----maybe it is just human nature, who knows? Maybe sometimes it take practice to handle success gracefully.

Kinda liked the helmets, but thought the rest of the outfit was horrible. Isn't Baylor Green and gold? I don't see any green anywhere? I don't mind the alternate jerseys and combos the equipment companies are coming up with but when you start eliminating the school's colors, then I have a problem. Kind of like our black home jerseys, at least those had some blue accents.

Prefer "yellow" but do think that chrome gold looks better with midnight blue than with green or black. Gold dome/blue rocket with yellow jersey might not look bad either.

Well, the thing is, our Rocket gold is yellow with a tad of red mixed in (but not enough to make it orange ). Our gold is not like UCF or Purdue's so it wouldn't really work.

Not sure why we're interested in Baylor vs UCF, but isn't UCF where Rodney Adams is rumored to be transferring to?

I read somewhere that those gold helmets (other schools have them) cost about $1,000 each.

Personally, I'd like to see us go back to the blue helmets with Toledo and the rocket. Don't think it helps recruiting, and it certainly doesn't make us play better.

there are other ways to get gold helmets. notre dame did it.
