This will help UCF next year, esp. if Bortles returns. When Boise was stringing together big seasons, it started building on itself because their rep helped them start in the preseason top 10. UCF will finish top 10 in the post-bowl poll and could start in the top 10 next fall if Bortles is back.

UCF's nonconference schedule next year involves PSU (in Ireland!), Missouri, and BYU. If they can go undefeated, I mean...never mind the G5 spot, they might make the playoff. That depends largely on Mr. Bortles' decision, I assume.

Yeah, if they get through their first 3 games undefeated (PSU, FIU, at Mizzou), they'll be on the short list before the playoff committee has its first meeting.
