CUSA finishes 3-3 in bowls
Thanks to North Texas beatdown of UNLV, CUSA evens it's bowl record at 3-3............guess that will disappoint some of the Negative-Nellies who were secretly hoping for 1-5 or 0-6.

Former CUSA member UCF is giving Baylor all they can handle and more through the 1 1/2 quarter.

I was surprised at the relative ease that UCF was able to score on the Bears, particularly in the 2nd half. Final score was 52-42, a real defensive struggle. Does this bowl season mean that the best Big 12 teams moved to the SEC?

I was surprised too at how good UCF really is. It goes to show how much a program really can improve 1 year to the next. Marshall went from 5 wins in 2012, to 10 wins this year. Hopefully, UAB makes a move in 2014 (at least 6 wins and a bowl)..........not getting my hopes up, as the defense has a loooong ways to go, and we will be breaking in a new QB.

No it doesn't. A&M gave up 48 points to Duke. We'll see what happens with Missouri and OK State. Missouri and A&M weren't even that good in the Big XII before they left. Quit listening to people in this state and try to actually pay attention to what happens on the field.(UCF has a QB projected to go in the first round)

I wasn't surprise by UCF handling Baylor. In UCF's only loss this season, they were actually beating South Carolina well into the 3rd quarter before losing that game. What is it more amazing about UCF is that they are a really young ball club loaded with Fresh and Soph's so they are going to be a force to be reckon with for the next few years.

UCF is what UAB should have become but because our school is ran by the folks in Tuscaloosa this will never be the case.

Especially since UCF has All-Conference USA players sitting on their bench for a chance to play special teams.

UCF has a location that UAB can never have. That seems to be overlooked by a lot of people. If all else is equal, as an 18 year old, I'd probably want to go to UCF over UAB.

UCF is a HUGE university too (current enrollment 60,181).

Not overlooked at all. I'm talking from an athletic point of view and not student body. Everything that UCF has on campus UAB should have had by now.

They have grown by leaps and bounds. In 1992, UCF enrollment was around 20,000 and has tripled in 20 years.

RE: CUSA finishes 3-3 in bowls
In MHO, Florida schools benefit from not being hobbled by school BOTs with each intent on protecting their own fiefdom as we have in Alabama. They have a statewide Bd of Regents that makes decisions for the whole state Post Secondary system. They also have more money, some of which comes from Alabamians playing their lottery (we also help GA as well) and vacationing in theme parks and its beaches.

It doesn't seem to bother them to have state universities with large enrollments and fast growing athletic programs - they now have 5 BCS level schools (one - Miami, is private) and a couple of others on that growth track as well. Right now UCF and USF are EACH about equal to the total enrollment of UA and AU - COMBINED.
