It is the right decision for him to make. He needs to strike while the iron is hot and get his professional career started. Love the kid and everything he has done for the university and wish him success in the NFL.

Nah...Tom Jurich is too committed to winning..if Strong leaves would not surprised me if he makes a phone call to Tallahassee for a certain Defensive Coordinator....but I would not have an issue if he makes a call to Bowling Green, Kentucky for a certain job hoping, motorcycle riding coach...but that one is doubtful...07-coffee3

Hire FSU's DC? A guy who was a high school assistant coach ~5 years ago and has been a college coordinator for only 1 season? I thought you UL people claim Jurich is "the best". That doesn't sound like a wise hire to me.

You just posted an article about Strong already having interviewed with Texas...

I don't think Strong is going anywhere. If he does though, we'll be fine. In TJ we trust!

RE: Bridgewater to enter draft
In all sincerity, I like Bridgewater as a pro but I don't love him. He is tough and he possesses great touch on his passes. He's also very mobile and he keeps his head up at all times - more of a scrambler than a runner (which is better, IMHO).

My favorite quality of the kid is how he'll stand in there and take a shot to deliver the football. That's not as common as one might suspect and he does it time and again. I have ZERO questions about Bridgewater's toughness.

My concerns about Bridgewater are size and arm strength related. He is awfully small to play that position in the NFL and his arm is okay but not great. He floats a LOT of passes and that will not work in the NFL. Those two shortcomings could be big issues for him even in the new NFL.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the kid more than every other QB prospect out there - including Johnny Football - and if my team needed a QB, I would definitely give him a close look. However, I'm not completely in love with any of the QB's in this year's class and if I had the No. 1 overall pick, I'd probably instead choose to that tackle from Texas A&M or someone like that.

RE: Bridgewater to enter draft
Bridgewater to the Texans makes the best ideal fit for O'Brien who coached with New England then to Penn State for the last two years has the understanding of how to work with young people thru that time in Happ Valley. This IMO will make it easier for Teddy to progress faster than a lot of other 1st year rookies especially QB's. I don't think IMO that Houston can make a better selection than TB who could be the franchise face of the program that they are so desperately in search of since taking Carr all those years ago with the 1st overall pick. I am glad Houston is not in Cincy's division for that is my team, but glad to keep up with them in another for sure. Congrats TB you are going to make one fine NFL QB for years to come.

Malzahn was a high school head coach. He was also a college head coach.

That makes the two situations quite dissimilar.

Malzahn was also a college OC for 5 years or so prior to becoming a college HC.

Just have a strong feeling if Strong leave Pruitt will be on the short list...many see him as one of the hottest coaching prospects out there plus the fact he is a known recruiter in the South...coached and is from the Saban tree like Fisher and FSU Defense improved even after Stoops left.

If not this year then next year I would be stunned if he is in Tallahassee after 2014. Another person my eye would be on if Strong gets the Texas gig is Jim McElwain...the former Louisville Offensive Coordinator along with the Former Alabama OC...currently the HC at Colorado State.

Of note:

I swore I heard Bridgewater say "My time here at Louisville was great!" at the Russell Athletic Bowl a few days ago. I think I was the only one on earth to catch it or maybe it was just my hearing acting up, but I knew then and there he'd be going NFL...
