yeah. we partied at some gigantic campground went to the beach and almost brought some 16 year old girls back with us. i didn't know they were 16 until my buddy bailed. he informed me later. to which i said, "16 is the legal age of consent here, but yeah." good times. there's much more to the story but it was cool being the first people on earth to see the first sun of the new year

Negative. I've been pretty relatively sheltered. Never left the country. Leave the southeast twice a year on business to Columbus, OH and LA. Past that the only times I've left the southeast were for the Sun Bowl and Orange Bowl (Miami aint the SE).

I watched fireworks over Pikes Peak.

Not as cool as it sounds, but still pretty nifty.

Looks like October: http://ohiolinux.org/

I actually drive up to Columbus (about 9 hours one way from Greenville-Spartanburg, SC). It takes longer than flying, but it is much cheaper and more flexible. Now when I go to LA next month ( https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale12x ... holy crap I'm even speaking at that one how did that happen? ) I will definitely fly. Ten hours drive is about the break even point with flying for me. Plus the mega hotels around LAX and their endless shuttles make the need to drive moot. Though I can't resist renting to check out some good roads:

There is an Enterprise Exotics at LAX. Boy it tempts me. If I could just be guaranteed for ONE DAY traffic in the greater LA area wasn't a total cluster**** I'd pull the trigger on an Aston.

BUT I DIGRESS.

I will counter your offer of airfare with buying me a meal at a nice local eatery in Cincinnati/Columbus when I drive through.

Oh blew right by without noticing the link.

Looks pretty cool. A bit too far to walk, but hooray for Drury CC having proper parking. I'm down. Never had mead before. But I am a liquor and wine guy. Working on the beer ... I just can't pound the heavy darks like most can ... and I'm not a fan of HUGE hops like a lot of beer snobs are.
