Apparently there has been a curse on Conference USA this year. 3 team were receiving votes in poll just to be humiliated the next game.
ECU has votes, and then gets killed by Marshall.
The next week Marshall gets votes, but gets destroyed by Rice in the Conference Championship.
Now Rice got votes but loses in the Liberty Nowl to Miss State 44-7.

It must be a curse, because certainly we aren't really this bad...

Well they never went to Hawaii Bowl so it's not that curse (see UAB/Tul/USM)

You get too many votes and the curse lasts a hair under 2 years. You qualified for this curse in 2011. The football gods threw in Ellis for free.
