Quote:Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher has officially signed a new five-year deal with the Seminoles through the 2018 season, the school announced Tuesday.

The deal is worth $21 million, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.

Cha-ching. Thanks, Texas boosters!

This gives him a greater asking price from Texas. I'm absolutely sure that he takes the Texas job now.

I'm betting this is like Auburn giving Cizik an extension after 2010. They mistook Cam Newton's talent for Cizik being a really good coach, and I suspect Jameis Winston has fooled the FSU folks about Jimbo too.

The end result is that Texas is either going to have to take a lower level coach or spend an uncomfortable amount of money.

I thought about that but FSU did go 12-2 last year without Winston. Chizik was at Iowa St for 2 years before going to Auburn and did nothing. Jimbo has a much better track record.

USF fans still not knowing sh*t. Go figure.

Fisher agreed to this extension 3 weeks ago, as was announced by ESPN during the ACC CG. For the losers in the thread, this had nothing to do with Texas.
