RE: Blount, #33 for MTSU is a punk and a thug.......
Memphis and MTSU fans don't have any love for one another, but what I saw today was an anomaly as far as I'm concerned.

We've played the Blue Raiders several times over the last few years and I've never seen actions like that before. What happened today was atrocious, but in my opinion it's not indicative of MTSU's program.

The kid must have been super hyped up, had his girl break up with him, or something because what happened isn't normal of MTSU. It's a shame that it happened against who the Raiders were playing and on a pretty big stage.

I agree with this.

As much as it may shock MTSU fans, this WKU fan sort of agrees. Don't get me wrong, there is a small bit of me that enjoys seeing MTSU bashed, but that doesn't serve the conference we're joining well. I don't think MTSU is more thuggish than any other program. Regardless, what #33 did was definitely bad play and he was rightly ejected. We've all had bad apples in our carts at times. What actions the coaches take will tell more about their program than the actions of an overzealous player.

And you think I care what you say? That punk's actions put a black eye on your program today. Of course you don't seem to care.

The first time I had seen MTSU play and really was rooting for them as a CUSA team.
That was until seeing the actions of this player. I started rooting for Navy. I agree
What the coach does with this player will reflect on their university and football team.
No excuse.

I agree with Apollo we love to hate the MUTS as much as any Topper fan should but I don't recall them being dirtier than other SBC team. Troy was the program that seem to wear that moniker more than MTSU.

I hope 33 is checked out. His play was so over the top that I wonder if he wasn't under the influence of something or has real mental issues. I don't think MTSU or any other team would condone his conduct, bad for the team image and costly in penalties, plus the obvious playing to maim an opponent.

A lot of talk about dirty plays on both teams, but other than #33, I didn't see anything that unusual.

I don't know Blunt, but for most college football fans he is now the face of Middle Tennessee football, and that is not good. I hope C-USA penalizes coach Stock for this. What an embarrassment.

RE: Blount, #33 for MTSU is a punk and a thug.......
Rod's actions cannot be defended. What he did was utterly wrong. I suspect he knows that based on his time at MT. There's just no reasonable way to excuse some of the things that happened, but the attacks on MT as a whole as if one day represents an entire community are rediculous. I actually feel bad for him, because he made some mistakes today and left a single mark that will damage his entire legacy. That's unfortunate. He's never done anything like that in five years at MT. It's really amazing that a guy that had someone else spit in his face, use racial slurs against and him damage his vehicle with beer bottles can maintain his composure in that situation and then have what happened today. I don't believe that the events that happened on one day reflect the man as a whole and certainly not an entire institution, but it seems to me that's the direction many of you want to take. If that's the case then so be it. Like someone told me recently social media has given a platform to way too many stupid people. Most of you are reasonable here, but for those of you who are ass wipes it's further displaying to me how much being online is becoming less and less enjoyable. Apparently, it only takes the voice of one idiot to drown the voices of many reasonable people. Perhaps it's time to take a hiatus? Good luck friends.

I have watch us play MTSU for years and never considered them a dirty team, they are not coached to play dirty. People making more out of it than this are just being goofy. Blount got his team penalized and embarrassed and then got ejected. What the hell else do people want.

Thor, I had seats on the 50 yard line, second row from the field. If our players had farted I would have heard and smelled it. The Navy team was not a bunch of choir boys. There were blocks below the knees by their wideouts after the whistle was blown, yacking at our players, late hit out of bounds on Kilgore and an assortment of other things going on. This was happening the entire game. Was Blunt in the wrong and should have been ejected? Absolutely. But to say we are a thug team shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

but you called out the other guy because he wasn't on the field...neither were you...and if all this happened...where were the flags? were the officials just out to get middle???

i've seen middle play at my stadium since we have been conference mates...thuggish behavior by middle is normal...absolutely...i know...i have seats close enough to hear and smell the farts of players as well...

Whatever. When you have Memphis fans defending us, though, that says something. Have a happy New Year.

I've watched quite a few of their games and this kind of behavior is not typical for Middle Tennessee.........at least not since Andy McCollum's sorry derriere was fired.

I think that it's fair to say that all fan bases have nut cases that burden any message board and also have objective, fair minded fans; Memphis is no different. I don't see anything unusual about a couple of Tiger fans acknowledging that the actions that happened yesterday were apparently limited to one individual and a true anomaly to what MTSU has represented on the field in the past. I was really surprised at what I saw yesterday and know that's not the norm with the Blue Raiders or a Stockstill coached team.
