Most of that chatter comes from NIU fans who are going to find out next year how cyclical things are in the MAC.
Ohio fans will be getting that lesson too.
I agree.
A "MAC Dynasty" is an oxymoron.
Next year folks will be talking about BG and ask Jordan Lynch? Didn't he used to play for NIU?
Same with Miami when Big Ben played there. He left and the program went downhill.
OSU is a dynasty. MAC teams get on runs with great players or excellent coaches and when the run ends, it ends.

CMU had a dynasty not too long ago with Brian Kelly, Dan LeFevour, Butch Jones. It can be done as long as you have a coaching contingency plan in place. Toledo and Northern Illinois have been good for several years and could be considered dynasties.

How many decades did this "dynasty" last??
When I think of "Dynasties" I think of UofM, OSU, ND, etc. programs which have had winning records of say .750 per year for say 2/3 or 3/4 of the years over several decades.
For a program to be a "MAC" dynasty it would have to have 9 or 10 winning seasons in 10 years and maybe a couple MACC within those 10 years. Or better yet, sustained performance over 15 or 20 years.
MAC teams are very cyclical more like the auto or housing industries -- cycling between hot and cold.

The MAC is, and always has been, an overachieving FCS (Div IAA) conference. Honestly, it probably always will be.
As far as a "dynasty," I would call a dynasty a team that is always in the .750 (or better) range, and for at least a decade. Eventually every team will have a one or two season hicup, but a dynasty will rebound and pick up where they left off -- none of this "rebuilding" BS used as an excuse to justify a lengthy down period.
