One lesson of the UAB drama - football is a privilege and NOT a God-given right
I'm happy that UAB is going to be restoring their football program with a year's hiatus. Bear Bryant Jr is obviously doing a happy dance.

But while the focus is rightly on Ray Watts and the corrupt BOT, there is another lesson which should not be forgotten. That is, football is a privilege and NOT a God given right (no matter how much of a religion it is in the South or elsewhere). Don't take it for granted.

That is all.

As a friend says, the mob in parking lot determines your fate, the bigger and louder they are, the more the president wants them happy. If they are small and or quiet the les the president knows or cares about athletics.
