Texas Tech-Arizona St sign H/H
Love seeing these type matchups. We have Arkansas and Arizona St on future schedules.

Quote:We are excited to once again bring this level of non-conference opponent to our campus and community, following the Arkansas series," said Kirby Hocutt, Director of Athletics. "We have a tremendously supportive and passionate fan base in Lubbock and West Texas that will really enjoy this game."

Sounds like a sensible pairing. It makes sense to play schools in your region IMO.

Could Texas Tech be lobbying for a PAC invite....05-stirthepot

Lol. Tech is also negotiating a H/H series with an ACC team so we're not tipping our hand.

Just out of curiosity is 2017 one of those years?

TT has a home and home beginning in 2014 with UTEP. Arizona has one with UTEP starting in 2016. Both of those teams must be hoping for a C-USA invite! 04-rock

RE: Texas Tech-Arizona St sign H/H
Some observations here....

One, as the article points out, TT is strengthening their nonconference schedule....and this appears to be because that is a determinant in the 4 team/2 game national playoff.

Two, if PAC has a desire to play B12 teams, it doesn't have to have a conference reconfiguration to accomplish that purpose....just do it as a nonconference game.

Third, just wonder if some of this stronger nonconference scheduling is tv driven, that is, tv broadcasters are paying big bucks for tv games and wants/needs strong match ups to attract audiences.

Fourth, if the 4 team national playoff is expanded to 8 teams, my guess is 5 slots will be reserved for the respective BCS champs and the momentum to schedule strong nonconference games will grow even stronger.

Possible but I believe the ACC team series will commence after the ASU series so that would be 2018.

Helluva 1st half for my Red Raiders but we still have a long way to go.

That being said, I really hope this becomes a conference matchup. Considering how the season ended, I'm happy with our performance and crowd tonight.

I know the SunDevils wished they were in the Rose but that was a good game.

Cal wished it back in 04 and that was a great game

We wished it in 08 against Ole miss and we sucked the joint up.

That being said, Texas Tech will join the PAC in the future.
