9 wins with a new staff and some of you are poo pooling....just incredible

Rick Minter might have gotten 9 wins from that schedule. 03-lmfao

LOL being that as it may, I don't see UC heading for the abyss like some

I don't think it is heading into the abyss. I don't think there will be a step forward, though.

Some of he George Smith crowd in Charlotte were whispering about impending B12 invite rumblings coming out of the upper end of the ADs Office this weekend during cocktail hour. We shall see if that is founded in fact or hope.

At this point a Big XII invite would be very good news for the fan base. We might have to get used to a few 6-6 and 7-5 types seasons but I am more concerned now the with awfulness that is American basketball.

I actually consider basketball the GOOD part of the league.

He never got nine (or even eight) with the former C-USA schedule. This schedule was no different.

I guess we'll see if it is Smoke or if it is Fire. Who's the other school? BYU?

The roster is a lot different, though. Not to mention the facilities, etc. But heck, I'd say you could have gotten us 6 wins against that schedule. But you would need to rock a Tom Landry fedora to pull off the right look.

The biggest hurdle Tubbs has is his, and staffs ability to recruit the guys he needs to get our program back up to speed. With Jones's poor recruiting of Lineman (shrimps)
On both sides of the ball, I would say that's paramount...I can tell you that I know Tubberville is looking to load up on Nasty..dominant..in any order.
They want some bad asses like they had down at Auburn.

TT has won EVERYWHERE he has been. UC is very close to several great recruits and will land a very good recruiting class even if they don't get some of the great ones they're still recruiting. TT is great at developing players.

Nippert renovation.

Whit's leadership.

UC continues to be among the few mentioned as expansion candidates.

that's quick and off the top of my head.

When it comes to purchasing tickets, I don't care if UC gets invited to a P5 or not. I'll still go to games.

Outside of that purchase, there's nothing I can do about the conference situation.

I'm a UC fan always. I'm not a fair weather fan due to the disappointing season.

God bless you Pony94.

They had to go with an insider the way they ran off the last two coaches. Their fans are obnoxious and I'm glad we are no longer playing them.

I don't understand where this "recruit to get the roster back up to speed" thought comes from? Our recruiting class is ranked #51 right now...and that's in the neighborhood of the past 8 recruiting classes I believe. Some on here act like we had this great run of top 20 classes. Our current class is on par with every class we had (including recruiting in a BCS conference) since 2006-ish.

Back from Belk Debacle. Been to every bowl since PapaJohn.com
Been a fan for 60 years, BBA & MS, UCATs at 45 yard and will be in new seats.
Very disappointed. May be the last worthwhile bowl for some time.

Need to consider a new Special Teams Coach.

Prefer ACC but odds are slim unless someone leaves and GOR makes that a $50 million deal.

B12 needs 2 but let's remember we will be a bottom feeder in most years. B12 is the 3 big dogs (TX, OU, OSU) + seven sisters.

Will not go to Beef O Bowl or Boca Bowl or Bahama Bowl or BBVA or Hawaii Bowl. Might consider Military. I will buy 2 tickets and donate them.

RE: Morning After
once again the B12 talk firing up has my hopes high....

what a HUGE shot in the arm that would be for our program. I would love to see what we would do with 20mil/yr., especially in the light of what we have been able to do over the past seven years with much much less

as far as worrying if we would be bottom feeders in the B12 or not, that's a problem I'd gladly take on.

RE: Morning After
As far as the Big 12 goes...if there's 12, they'd have to go back to divisions. I think if we were in a division with the Kansas schools, Iowa State, West Virginia, and either Oklahoma or Okie State, we'd have a decent chance at competing for that division every year. Sure we'd have little to no chance against Texas, OU, and probably Okie State and Baylor, but the other 8 teams would be beatable every single season.

Baylor and Kansas State say hi. Both programs have done very well in the conference and have held their own against Texas and Oklahoma. Both schools wish they had some of the resources UC has (of course they have bigger athletic budgets but the additional television revenue and being in the B12 for a long period of time helps).

Quote:To be fair, my expectations for Mick and the basketball squad while in this conference are not off the charts either (file under solid showing, but nothing exceptional).

UC dominated CUSA and were a national program consistently ranked in the top 20; why cant UC do something similar in the American?
