RE: The Big Ten is bad
I guess you have a looser definition of manhandle. If the final was 45-20 then I'd certainly agree. They needed a fumble recovery w/ 45 tics to go to stretch it to 14 and had no answer for Derrick Henry. Oklahoma did a great job of exposing Alabama's defense.

I imagine after the last two games and how they have turned out for Bama Saban will spend the entire offseason whining about the proliferation of spread offenses.

I have no issue w/ spread offense. Air Raid is practically an expanded run and shoot and the stuff Auburn and Clemson does is practically the wing t.

can somebody help me out with a stat on what percentage of our P5 games are vs. the sec compared to other conferences?

Of the 6 BCS conferences, their record against the other five is below 50%. The ACC and Big East are both slightly below 40%. We ought to be playing them more often, and maybe with Rutgers and Maryland now in the B1G, maybe we will.
Again, using data from the last four years, the ACC plays the highest percentage of its OOC schedule (including bowl games) against SEC teams (45%).
The B1G is second at 28% and the Big East/AAC comes in third at 21%.
The PAC plays 11% and the Big XII only 7%. You can understand the PAC's low number because of geography. But there's no excuse for the Big XII. Frankly, I think the SEC is just as reluctant to play Big XII teams as vice versa. Much of the SEC's perceived dominance can be explained by their four year record against mid-majors and FCS opponents. They are an eye-popping 141-9 when they play those cupcakes.
The Big XII has a sweet tooth as well, with a 93-12 record outside the BCS conferences. The B1G loves them cupcakes as well, to the tune of 117-28. And more than a few of those losses aren't really to mid-majors. They are to Notre Dame, which is technically not in a BCS conference.
That is because of the instate and traditional rivalries.
Every year.
Florida vs Florida State
Georgia vs Georgia Tech
South Carolina vs Clemson
Vanderbilt vs Wake Forest
Now add
Kentucky vs Louisville
and you will probably see more Georgia vs Clemson in the future. Clemson made much money with that game.

The Wake-Vandy series is currently cancelled. Although if Franklin leaves, I would a few shots at them with our new coach.
