RE: Marshall has best bowl % in FBS??
Go back and read my original post. Banker is the one that brought up the conference standings and I could give you dozens of examples of teams that didn't finish as high in the conference standings, but that is only one part of a season, and many had the better overall season. Conference standings aren't apples to apples round robin either.

Heck a couple years ago Houston was 13-1 (8-1) in CUSA beat a ranked Penn State and finished ranked higher in the top 25 and didn't even win the CUSA championship. 12-2 (7-2) USM team that finished ranked lower in the top 25 and had more losses including a crappy one to 3-9 win UAB. You think Houston would have traded seasons?

In many cases you played what very well ended up being mediocre 4th or 5th best teams in CUSA those years . Then most of your other bowls are rounded out by teams like Ohio or FIU. The biggest win is either BYU (8-4) or Maryland (7-6)

Yeah and we still spanked your a$$ this year.......spin things all you want.....all that matters when it came down to playing on the field against one another, we beat your ass and that's all that matters

So did a 3-9 Marshall team while we went on to beat a ranked Boise in a bowl to show you how much one game really matters in a grand scheme. Would you rather have been the 3-9 team sitting home too?

To each their own, I'd take 10-3 over 10-4 all day every day.

All 10-3 vs 10-4 shows me is you weren't good enough to get that 14th game, win or lose. So your one game vs us doesn't matter but our one game vs Rice does? Take out the CCG that you weren't good enough to get into and we have the same record, very similar schedule, and a head to head blowout, not just an OT win but an asskicking of epic proportion. I'll take sending your ass packing to your new digs with a big M tattooed on it over 10-3 every time.

PS you can't hold a loss that a team gives an opponent against that team. Maryland is only 7-6 because we beat them. We however beat a 7-5 team. Nice spin but not buying your BS.

Yet we beat multiple teams that beat you as well as had the better record vs a stronger SOS. I guess you like more losses and lower rankings hey.

Resorting to the transitive property when there is head-to-head data. 03-lmfao A good troll doesn't make it this blatant.

Marshall won the division ECU competes in. They beat ECU head-to-head. They won the superior bowl game.

Game. Set. Match.

Based on realtimerpi.com's SOS, ECU played a 191 rpi SOS and Marshall played a 200 rpi SOS. That's negligible as far as I'm concerned. Had it been a 100 rpi difference, your argument might mean something.

RE: Marshall has best bowl % in FBS??
Well at the end of the day we have the BEST (#1 in FBS) bowl winning percentage amongst teams with 10 or more bowls. Every bowl team is at least decent or they wouldn't be in a bowl.

59-28 (counting your late TD against our scrubs) hahah, everyone knows who had the better team this year.

....and who is ranked higher there? ECU is, just like we very likely will be by everyone important who's paid to grade out who had the better season 07-coffee3

Gotta love SJ. He likes to use the "we beat multiple teams that beat Marshall" simply because it sounds better than saying "2". Guess he likes leaving something to the imagination.

Both schools had a 9-3 regular season, but we beat them head to head, won the division, were rewarded with a better bowl game and beat a good opponent in that bowl. If he wants to think they had a better season I can understand. It's all he's got left to hang his hat on after the humiliation The Herd handed ECU.

Oh, btw Mr. Bipolar poster, I am not the one that brought up conference standings. You did when you said Marshall beat 4th and 5th place CUSA teams. I merely showed you were wrong.

Congratulations on Marshall victory this season against ECU. BUT before bragging remember your overall records (Cusa/Overall) against ECU.......3-6 in Cusa and 5-10 overall. When one talks about "we beat your ass and that's all matters".......no one game matters but a 33% winning records against ECU does matter when comparing "head to head playing on the field against one another". Again, congratulations on Marshall's win this season and its first (nine years of Cusa history) east division champs. Finally note, one game can make a season but history makes a program

Sorry you weren't good enough to play 14 games this year.
