After Marshall's big win today (#10) against Maryland and East Carolina's 10th victory against Ohio and the fact that Rice is already at 10 wins with a chance to get #11 against Mississippi State, it got me wondering if CUSA had ever had at least 3 teams with 10 wins. Add in the fact that both North Texas and Middle Tennessee have real good shots to get to 9 wins each for the season.

Guess what...........................................even with all the good/great teams this conference has had in the past, it's never had three teams finish with at least 10 wins until now or 5 teams finish with 9 wins or more.

With the distraction / disruption of realignment and considering the relative tough OOC scheduling of many of the teams this year, this conference ought to feel pretty d*mn proud of what it's accomplished this year in football.





Good luck to North Texas and Middle Tennessee..................and RICE in each of your bowl games and continuing to break records in CUSA this year !!

I think CUSA will continue to produce some great programs in the future.

Pretty impressive stat when you consider all the transition the conference has gone through and is still going through. May sound cheezy, but I'm really proud of this conference this year. A few teams have struggled / had off years, but they'll be back.

Everybody is so focused on realignment and the P5 potential breakaway that in the meantime all lil ole CUSA did was potentially serve up three 10 game winners with one maybe winning 11 and 2 more 9 game winners. I'm pulling hard for North Texas and MTSU and Rice.

I think the bad teams at the bottom, my Miners included, played a part in making this happen.

Thanks Pirated. I will probably say it again, but it has been great sharing a conference with you guys, Tulsa and and Tulane even if for only one season. I know there is a lot of teeth gnashing over "consolidation" but I believe there is a good core group of schools here that are focused on doing nothing but improving and getting better. What a great, feel-good, post that makes us all feel proud to be C-USA members. As posted elsewhere on this board, but which bears repeating in this thread, the top 8 of C-USA is as good or better than any other G5 conference in the nation. And I do believe this year's lower level 6 teams will improve over time. There is much to celebrate this year, and don't let posters from other boards tell you otherwise. As our total conference improves, it will be more difficult to repeat the outstanding records of this year, but it gives us all something great to shoot for.

Five teams with 2 or fewer conference wins is a lot. Tulsa, UTEP, UAB, Southern Miss and FIU are just as, if not more, responsible for this than the teams at the top.

And if we can finish .500 or better in the bowls, then I would say it's a pretty legit' stat.

Will CUSA's records in bowls this year have any bearing on how many Bowls will be available in 2014?
