I gotta believe the biggest of you whiners never played any competitive athletics. To denigrate the amazing run these Huskies have had over the past 4+ years including this year's 12 win season suggests you have NO concept of what it takes to win a single football game, much less 12 in a row.

This has been the golden age of Huskie athletics and, frankly, for the mature amongst us, a JOY to behold. Whodda thunk NIU would be a main story in national media for nearly 2 years? ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Chicago papers, CBSsports.com...........really? and you are complaining?

This team and these coaches have been amazing and I, for one, greatly appreciate it and have relished in every minute of this season. Where do any of you complainers get off griping about this astonishingly successful NIU football program? Who raised you to have such feelings of entitlement? The football team and staff owe fans only hard work, their best effort and excitement--that was all surely here all year. Fans owe this team and staff a huge THANK YOU!

Losing sucks. Playing like complete **** two games in a row and losing sucks even more.
I must have grown up. I don't break things anymore during losses. ha

I don't think anybody would disagree that this is the golden age of NIU football or would take a dump on the last 4 years. But the last 2 games were terrible. Part of the extreme disappointment on this board is that the previous 3 seasons and 12 games showed us that the team is capable of and should be a lot better than what we saw in December. A 4 year stretch of 46-10 football would've been unfathomable even a few years ago, but the team still missed a golden opportunity this season, and I think it's fair to weigh both the good and the bad.

Some of you think they play just for you, disappoint YOU in the end. You people are worse than 3 yr olds not getting there toys at Christmas. Better yet, the people comlaining at the 25 million doallar community center at 115th in the ghetto off I57, that complained they had to wait 8 hrs in cold temps just to get a free scooters/bikes for their kids. Stating "it wasn't worth it." Complaining that they couldn't get MORE than 1 gift for each kid there.

You people act like YOU are entitled to wins, major bowls. You know what, if you are disappointed that's one thing. To come back and say "well, the team would agree." News- f'n flash, you are either in school and don't play or you are out of school and still don't play. My god, I have never seen such a bunch of f'n whiners. GET A F'N LIFE!!!!!

Im upset bc we had an opportunity to get Sims some help after his injury and the coaches didn't want to. The poor kid played his last game failing miserably after years of doing a good job and these new coaches let him down BIG TIME! I felt after the MACC game that NIU needed to regroup by getting a bowl game with a later date than earlier that would.
a) Let us use all 15 bowl practices to sharpen up our starters, work our underclassmen in spring ball fashion, and get some different formations/plays for everybody so you have more fun in practice and surprise the opponent in the game ie novak 04 and 06.

b)help the alums with travel and get more people to the game.

c) get a bowl that helped more with costs.

d) Let our 1-2 guys get some fresh legs and rest.

e)move a guy from a position to a different one earlier.

I think the administration taking the San Diego game is great for a experience but we had a great one last year. We needed to get somethings in order and the coaches needed help. The coaches didn't prepare for MACC and this bowl.

The players and seniors didn't reach their team goals because of the actions that were beyond their control. That is scary to me. If we go .500 or less after next year we need a new coach, its obvious that JC sucked it up on this one.

It is a message board. Everybody needs to get off their high horse. If you think everyone is going to agree you have come to the wrong place. We had a thread about the lack of hot dogs at Huskie stadium that went on and on. I am glad we have so many people at least talking about the Huskies. I think the number of people who come on here has gone up a ton in the last 5 years. Different opinions are a good thing. Everyone has a voice within reason.

People are getting very sensitive on this board. The last couple of games were disappointing for sure, but the year as a whole was very, very good. I think the problem is this program has accomplished so much success that we expect it and when things go wrong in the short term sometimes you miss that point.

I agree. We end up sounding like Bama fans after the Iron Bowl. Full scale meltdown! Made me poke my head out the door and look up at the sky to make sure it wasn't falling! Geez!

I bleed red and black like most on this board and certainly I was disappointed with the last 2 games but Im sure no where near the disappointment the players and coaches feel. These kids and the coaches gave everything they had game after game, and I thank them all for that. I had a blast this past season and look forward to next season.
