down hill.........
Well huskies fans I have bad news. Well five bad things.
1) attendance will be bad and we just lost a bunch of fans!!
2) all respect we gained is gone.
3) I bet must of the recruits they got are gong to go elsewhere.
4) we may never see this type of winning again with the last two defeats.
5) back to being a team that barely makes bowl games.

This all sinks but probably true. 03-banghead

Only time will tell. I hope it's not true but this is the life of a mid major. Look at Boise state. They win a bcs game and now look at what they are doing. We will be good but not what had happened the last for years.

Im not sure if its a mid major thing or just a cyclic football program thing. Look at schools like Purdue, trying to return to glory. Its not easy to build and maintain a winner. We have been spoiled by the incredible success no doubt.

RE: down hill.........
I was not trying to be negative. I'm just saying it might happen. I mean they can barely fill the stadium after going to the orange bowl? Something wrong is there. I'm happy that we have had this success but it won't last long. I mean how many teams in college football have won 11 plus games the last four years and might I add held up in academics.
I think we are on the right track for being a great mid major program. And that's okay.
If we want to be the next Boise or tcu they needed to beat bowling green. They didn't. They should have beat Utah state to still hold some respect but they didn't. Games like this matter to the national perspective.

Oh, it doesn't take a loss. A loss just makes it louder.

phew, sad sack of potatoes we got here.

the reason we can't fill the stadium is because of the teams we bring in. I hosted parties to watch NIU v Iowa and Purdue, people loved it. But offering up my extra tickets to see WMU on a Tuesday? fuggetaboutit. Eastern? I had five EIU alums who all opted not to go to the game... to SEE THEIR OWN TEAM!

To say the success we have won't last is foolish. Take a good look at our roster, our facilities and our upcoming scheduling. These are teams people want to see and facilities that will only improve us.

Boise State went 10-3 the season after winning the Fiesta Bowl and an undefeated season. I doubt they threw up their hands and said screw it, we're done because they returned to the Top 25 in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.
