Liberty Bowl Weather Countdown
Actually better than for the Marshall game, especially in the sun/wind category.

Being on the edge of CST/EST the sunset will be about 30 minutes earlier than Tiki Island on New Year's Eve.

RE: Liberty Bowl Weather Countdown
Agreed, and heaven knows, it should not be a problem for me given the arctic freeze we've been having the past couple weeks here in Chicago (I awoke to -1 degrees/-17 wind-chill the other day), but mid-to-high 30s high temperatures on Tuesday complicates the packing just a bit. I'm still hoping I can get away with gloves and several layers of Rice clothing (long sleeve T-shirt, fleece pullover, RBI Club fleece vest). Anything more will make it difficult to cram into a carryon bag.

Coldest bowl event may be the Beale Street Parade, on Monday afternoon.

That's much better than it could be. When I was growing up in Memphis, the Liberty Bowl seemed usually to be on the coldest night of the year. The 1983 game (Boston College vs. Notre Dame) was particularly bad at 11 degrees.

About half of the difference is due to longitude; the other half is due to latitude.
