ECU is really putting on the pressure now. OU kicker misses a FG.

Terrible penalty calls against OU. It's not the refs job to keep ECU's drive going.

Gonna take more than a FG to do them any good now.

Seems like ECU has the MO.

That's gotta hurt.

I don't get it. I look away from the screen for 10 seconds and ECU has the ball again.

I have nothing against Ohio U. In fact, I kind of like Ohio U., for completely gifting us a win in football a few years ago, and for destroying Michigan in the NCAA tournament after UM couldn't tell them apart from a larger, more prestigious school in Ohio. It had nothing to do with Ohio U. losing and everything to do with The MAC losing and Beef O'brady getting a dud football game.

But Ohio U. didn't get humiliated. They hung in there and I don't think we would have fared any better against that 4,000 yard passer, although we could always say 'what if'. At least they still lost. Hope we use this experience to come back hungry next year.

I think we have the talent and potential to have won. But, I think we would have lost.

OU had same record as UT I think.

And Buffalo had 1 more win (I think).

Personally I don't have the outrage I had in 2000 when a 10-1 Toledo stayed home for bowl season.

I really want the present QB debacle behind us.

Agree. I am totally ready for a new QB debacle. I was just thinking about that. I think Woodside and Ely fight out numero uno, Julian (?) from S C moves to "athlete" and the Michigan guy redshirts.

I'm ready too H2O (duh! didn't I just say that?).
A fresh QB competition to debate.
Hope the next MAC star (Heisman candidate?) materializes.

Toledo most likely would have gotten blown out as well considering their lack of play recently, hate to say it. I just don't see much fight in that team.

To be fair, they put all of the fans on the side opposite TV (stupid decision IMO). But Ohio had probably around 3,000 fans there and outdrew ECU...who by all accounts is a program that "travels well". Everyone at the game was very impressed with the OU turnout. I think it only helped our cause for future bowls.

Yeah when Ohio U. scored they showed a pretty sizeable fan section that was almost as large as the Toledo section for our game at Florida International a few years ago. They did alright traveling to that game, considering most of them were probably not expecting a win.

OU didn't travel terrible, about as good as anyone else would accept NIU or BG IMO. But bigger than the 2010 LCB section??? hahahaha no! Attendance for that game was 33k. FIU had 300. Toledo brought 15k probably. It's an hour away? Watch the replay, a very good turnout by MAC standards.

I bet BG will look nice on TV Thursday.

^No, the game at FIU in Miami that we won (not a bowl game), just to compare how well we'd travel to a road game in Florida. The stands behind the Toledo sideline were all Rocket fans.

Toledo had a very nice crowd at FIU in Miami.
I brought several non-Toledo Ft Lauderdale locals along with me as well.

Since Ohio hasn't won a MAC championship since the Vietnam War, I guess they deserved the bowl bid.

RE: OT-Blow Out Bowl Today
Speaking of the LCPB, interesting call in the Beef O'Brady game when the E. Carolina quarterback tried to jump from inbounds to out of bounds and extended the football out in front of him to get forward progression. He came up just short of the first down on a 4th down play - and it was called incorrectly. The expert official in the booth indicated correctly that the officials on the field made the wrong call and gave the runner extra yards after the ball had cross the sideline (ie when he was in the air, but the plane of the sideline had been crossed before he extended the ball forward).

This came up short of the first down, but he was given 2-3 extra yards incorrectly. Same thing happened in our bowl game against FIU (or FAU?) and it cost us the game.

I've never been an official for football, but I have know the correct ruling on that since I was a sophomore in high school. How the hell do the officials in college games keep blowing that call? Common sense would tell you that you cannot move the ball forward when the defense is not allowed to stop you - or get flagged for a hit out of bounds.

dumba$$es!! That call still pi$$es me off - so I didn't need to be reminded of it....

I recall a nonUT game years ago where a guy jumped OB at the one and stuck the ball out for a TD. Then it was overruled. Happens enough you' d think they'd get it right.

I went to the game and sat in the party deck area which included a buffett and full bar. The attendance was around 20,000. ECU and OU brought their entire band and cheerleaders. Does UT send their band to bowl games? I see that NIU isnt sending their full band to San Diego.
