Looks like it could be a 4-5 or 5-4 week for the MAC.

Let's hope we keep the winning weeks going...

I'm pretty sure Cleveland State should just join the MAC at this point, since they've played practically everyone in the conference.

The winner of the Akron/ISU game plays the BoiseSt/South Carolina winner. So depending on how things work out Akron could end up playing SC twice in one week.

Duke #45.

Does that mean EMU has a chance? 04-jawdrop

Worse teams than EMU have beaten better teams than Duke. But whether EMU has a chance has nothing to do with the #45. Duke is better than that, I promise. Still, hope springs eternal, said my old ball coach Alex Pope, said.

Toledo up to 30th in latest AP poll. Unfortunately they have only 1 more game before they play Kansas, so they must likely won't get ranked, unless they beat Kansas.

Incredible opportunity that Toledo has. Few MAC teams ever get in this position in December. A few have been ranked later in the season, but UT has a chance to really set themselves up for a historic season. Some might even say an historic season, but they mostly died after the 19th century ended...

Akron got smoked 83-60 by Iowa St. Don't know who they play next. I know they have S.Car. later in the week at SC.
ISU effectively doubled on Treadwell and that was about the story. They overmatched the rest of the Zips.

akron was up first half but got sloppy on and then just gave up down the stretch. really sad performance. treadwell and harney kinda half as$ed and pouted most of the second half. nobody even tried to rebound and they repeatedly gave niang (a great shooter) wide open looks. not sure why dambot had isaiah johnson and forsythe on niang. neither is quick enough to guard him and iowa st ran high post pick and pops and isos to exploit the defense. hoiberg definitely out coached dambot in this one. zips matched up well physically, just lost their edge when iowa st locked in.

mac could have 6 top 100 rpi teams when conf play starts. need bg to finish non conf strong and kent to get a road win at princeton (rpi26). plus,no teams likely below 250rpi for a change.

That was the worst game I've seen Akron play in years. Nothing was falling. No one was driving to the basket. We shot only 6 free throws (1-6). Very lazy effort. The worst part about it. Coach seemed ok with the effort. Not a happy fan!! ISU was beatable based on what I've seen of the Zips this year. If we don't go 2-0 against South Carolina this was a wasted opportunity.

yeah, I was at the game and the energy of akron from late first half on was strangely subdued. you would think that a game which might be your at large calling card come march would be motivation. you'd think a trip to the championship of a big time 8 team tourney in Hawaii would be motivation. you'd think knowing pro scouts were in the crowd taking notes would be motivation...

s. Carolina is ok. like a good mac team no better. both teams coming off ugly losses so it probably depends on who wants the win more.
