Look at strength of schedule for EMU and say Toledo. 04-jawdrop

And EMU has Syracuse coming up Tuesday. OMG.

What? You implying a 230 point difference is significant?

And we all know EMU schedule's like that to collect paychecks.

BTW, is it safe to assume that the 3 Non D-I opponents aren't included in EMU's strength of schedule???

Buffalo down 24-20 to Drexel at the half. UB shooting 7-29 (24.1%) from the field, 1-9 (11.1%) from 3, and 5-9 (55.6%) from the line in the first half.

Your assumption is correct. They don't count towards SOS or RPI. They don't count as wins either (according to those), so it's a double-edged sword. It still takes nothing away from the severity of our schedule overall. And so what if it's to collect a paycheck? You do the same thing...so does everyone in the MAC. I don't see your point.

My point is the SOS comparison used above is not accurate.

EMU schedules 3 paycheck games, compared to Toledo's 1, and we are supposed to applaud EMU for their scheduling, when EMU schedules 3 non D-I games, compared to Toledo's 1??? No Thanks!!!

It was a great game for Buffalo and I was impressed with the Quality of Drexel's stream... Except

http://www.ubbullrun.com/2013/12/29/5253...-reactions

"Drexel's team, on the other hand, called UB the "Bison" for the first 15 minutes of the game, and then when corrected pronounced "Bison is a better nickname anyway." Now I'm not going to get all upset about some homerism - because, again, I've grown up with Rick Jeanneret, and there was some pretty Drexel-centric commentary today - but this was not the best broadcast I've ever seen. You have got to know who you're playing!"`

RE: Men's Basketball Week of December 23 - 29
good win for buffalo, bruiser flint always puts rugged teams on the floor that defend.

as for emu, I don't "hate" emu. I simply find this team to be lousy in terms of playing to their potential. I think emu has ncaa tourney type talent. however, they play selfish, have poor fundamentals and have played down to the moment repeatedly in their gauntlet schedule.

there is no doubt emu has played a ridiculous schedule. it's a strange one, too.

I don't like eastern cuz no one will penetrate to draw the defense and dish or lob to riley so he can throw down enormous dunks. instead the team ignores his presence except to occasionally post him up 14 feet from the rim where he cowers goes against all big man coaching and holds the ball between his legs while he turns away from the basket. I don't like eastern because all their guards would rather take a contested 22 footer 10 seconds into the shot clock when they could get an open look from 20 if they swung the ball once or twice. I don't like eastern cuz Bryant is ridiculous but no one will penetrate draw help and dish or lob to him. I don't like that eastern plays good zone d and then doesn't try to boxout. sorry, its just sad to see a pretty girl who chews w her mouth open.

In certain respects, EMU reminds me a bit of Toledo football the past couples seasons...good individual talent wearing the uniforms & playing challenging out-of-conference games, but just not able to really put it all together. Of course, the non-conference season may not mean much as a predictor for MAC play...could be some interesting games on the basketball court between UT and EMU this season.

Not able to put it all together? Because we lost to 3 top 25 teams and Purdue?

Ok guys.

I would agree that EMU has some impressive athletic ability on this year's team but so far it hasn't put it all together. If we can jell as a team with all the individuals firing on the same cylinders we can win the MAC title.

The games between Toledo and WMU are the ones that will be interesting in the MAC West.
