Good catch, although The standings in the OP actually reflected Navy's win against MTSU, I just forgot to list them with Notre Dame and BYU. (Added now). But it didn't really affect anything with respect to the nonAQ v AQ games that I have listed, because Navy is a nonAQ team that played a nonAQ team (MTSU).

I only caught the last few minutes of the Vandy-Houston game, but looks like someone Coog'd it.

Although, to be fair to the Coogs, I'm not sure they were favored. So this may not qualify. I actually thought they would hammer Vandy.

As I said before, ECU will be carry the AAC in fball. It's ironic that the AAC/BE snubbed ECU for so long; and now ECU will be the team to provide the AAC the long-term strength it needs (along with UCF and maybe Cinci).

This is one of those few instances where dyslexia would come in handy.

I hate that the MAC went winless this year...but I'll gladly accept our 2nd bowl victory in as many years.

A lot of good programs in the MAC. They'll rebound from this.

RE: 2013-14 Conf. Bowl Standings as of 5 Jan
I read something the other day written by Rick Cleveland of the Jackson (MS) Clarion Ledger where he stated something to the effect of: "The SEC has proven it's the best conference due to the fact it has the best record in bowl games this year". I usually enjoy 99% of his articles but this one is where he blew it. As much as it pains me to say it the SEC has been the best conference for the past 5-7 years (give or take on the 7) BUT this is the first time the SEC has won the bowl cup challenge. Based on his logic the MWC would be the best conference in this time frame as they've won 4 Bowl Cup Challenges since this stat was started in 2002 (conferences must have at least 3 teams playing in bowls to be eligible). C-USA and the ACC both have 2 and all the other conferences have 1 each with the exception of the Sun Belt and the now disbanded WAC who never won it.

RE: 2013-14 Conf. Bowl Standings as of 5 Jan
Original Post updated to reflect Florida St over Auburn.

Some Observations on the last year of the existing BCS bowl system.

ACC wins national championship.
Sunbelt has best bowl win percentage although it had just two bowl games.
SEC championship run ends at 7 years.
CUSA goes 3-3 and ends up with three 10 game winners (first time ever).
AAC only goes 2-3 in it's inaugural season, but beats the B12 champ in the Fiesta Bowl.
MAC finishes 0-5.
Big 10 had a terrible bowl season and newcomers Rutgers didn't make a bowl and Maryland lost Marshall.

It's going to be really interesting to see who from "G5" / "NonAQ" gains the access bowl next year.

2-0 ---- SBC
7-3 ---- SEC
6-3 ---- PAC
2-1 ---- INDY
3-3 ---- B12
3-3 ---- MWC
3-3 ---- CUSA
5-6 ---- ACC
2-3 -----AAC
2-5----- B10
0-5 ----MAC
