High school football attendance record
Some football fans on this forum may be interested in this piece of news. Record attendance today down here in Texas for a high school football game. 54,347 attended the TX Class 5A Div 1 state championship game between Allen & Pearland high schools at Cowboy Stadium. There are 2 other games played there today, so that may skew the attendance number. Although not verified yet, this may be a national record for high school football.

Looks like the 1937 Chicago Prep Bowl between Public League champ Austin High School and Catholic League Champ Leo has them beat by a significant margin.

Wow! Great story! I'll forward this to the Dallas Morning News HS sports dept. So far, the next highest attendance that they were able to find was a hs fb game in Buffalo NY back in 1948 which had a little over 50,000 in attendance.

*Usher chief Andy Frain*

Lol! I used to work for his company. I think that's the same Andy Frain that runs the security for Chicago venues and suburban high schools. Guys been around for a while!

Forget about college, compare that to NFL games.

That's a larger attendance than any Jaguars game this year. As well as Oakland, Tampa, Pittsburgh & St. Louis since NFL uses "ticket distributed" numbers instead of butts in the seats
