I agree with you that for a FACT UL NEVER played 1AA ball. It is so frustrating when you hear fans from other schools say, "when UL moved up to 1A". UL was NEVER 1AA and never will be, end of story!. Let WKUApollo keep playing his name games. I guess he just has a hard time accepting it. I'm done playing!. Peace out until next season.
I'm not playing any name games....which is extremely funny coming from fans of a school who play the "name" game all the time. It seems to me the ULL fans have a hard time accepting that from 1937 until 1974 you weren't a major college football program. You were small time just like the rest of us. I'm not sure why this is so difficult for ya'll to understand and accept.
No, I stated earlier that UL played at a lower level. Now you do know the difference between the time tables of the different designations of D1AA and the previous lower divison, so you are not having a hard time just playing a major dick today. Of course UL played at a freaken lower level, but it never played under the 1AA designation! That remains fact, even after you started flexing your scrotum and playing the major dick!

And don't forget, as if anyone can, that they set a NOLA Bowl attendance record this year. I'm not sure anyone on the SBC or CUSA boards is aware but a team down the road from New Orleans brought a lot of folks to a Bowl game in New Orleans. I can't wait until they get a Bowl outside their state's primate city and bring 40,000. They're simply awesome. OK..OK...just stirring the pot.
Actually we went to the Grantland Rice Bowl in 1970 where we lost to Tennessee State 26-25. The Bowl existed from 1964-1972. Please don't come back with, but....

Crazy Cajun vocabulary: asswipe, scrotum, butthurt, and major dick. Wow whatever happened to facts and opinions? By the way-I agree with most of what you say;however see no reason to involve groin parts.

Dude, once again, I agreed with everything you said all along. I didn't have to look it up that you were never IAA. I stated over and over that ULL was never IAA. If you read my initial posts, all I ever said was that previous to you moving to Division I, you were at a secondary level. FACT. You're the one who kept stating you weren't ever IAA. I agreed with you at every step. You're the one who never acknowledged that you were ever at a lower level. That's all I ever attempted to do. As to me being jealous or an asswipe or any of your other juvenile name calling, I think anyone else would read my posts and state unequivocally that all I did was try to clarify some facts without being an ass about it. In the end I made a joke about your attendance at NOLA and even stated I was merely just poking fun and stirring the pot. I and other WKU fans as well as all other CUSA and SBC fans have given ya'll props for the attendance at the NOLA Bowl. Ya'll have become a bit overzealous with tooting your horn about it though. I've lost count of the number of threads but hey, you did it, good for ya'll.
Let's move along. Clearly we must have lost something in translation during our discussion.

Cajuns and Delta State were in the same conference for a few years (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association), from 1938-'41. Obviously, that was a long time ago.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_In...ssociation
Most schools from the South were in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association at some point in their history, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, etc. at least til 1922. Like you said, it was a long time ago. Smaller schools joined after 1922. Just a little tidbit.
The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) was one of the first collegiate athletic conferences in the United States. Twenty-seven of the current Division I FBS (formerly Division I-A) football programs were members of this conference at some point, as were at least 19 other schools. Every member of the current Southeastern Conference except Arkansas and Missouri, as well as six of the 12 current members of the Atlantic Coast Conference plus the University of Texas, now of the Big 12 Conference (and previously of the now defunct Southwest Conference), formerly held membership in the SIAA.
UL
1902–1913: Independent
1914–1925: Louisiana Intercollegiate Athletic Association
1925–1941: Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association
1939–1947: Louisiana Intercollegiate Conference
1948–1970: Gulf States Conference
etc..

That's correct. From 1964-1972 it was the College Division playoff Bowl (quarterfinals). Then when the University Division and College Division became Division I and Division II in 1973, the Grantland Rice Bowl became the National Semifinals Bowl Game for Division II. WKU also played in it in 1975. Later, when Division II was replace with 1AA, it became the quarterfinals game for IAA. I believe WKU played in it 3 times as IAA. It's now the FCS quarterfinal Bowl game.

Thanks for the info, i knew from 1964-1972 it was a College Division playoff bowl, but i wasn't sure about when they changed it to Division II designation. I did not know that it became the FCS qtr final Bowl game.

I stated UL has never played football under the 1AA designation, that is FACT! You can call it semantics, but it was called a lower division before a number of college teams remained in that level and became 1AA. The rest of the SLC became 1AA, UL never became 1AA and that is not semantics.

Wow guys. I've said from the beginning, over and over, that ULL was never IAA. All I ever said was that before ya'll moved to Division I, you were first the College Level and then the Division II level, both of which were below the top level. I can't understand why ya'll are throwing hissy fits about that.
