Is Darrell Bowie a star in the making?
NIU BBall has played better than I expected. Every game, a different player seems to step up and contribute. Darrell Bowie seems to be the most consistent player on the team. Is he the next star or will someone else(Highsmith, etc.) step up as season goes along. In the past, we have had one go to guy but not sure if this team has that guy?

He could be a hero, if just for one day.

Probably should get his shooting percentage to at least 40% before we go there.

At first, I thought you were talking FT pct, so I checked and he's up to 56% from the line!
Highsmith is at just 52%, Bolin has made only 9 of 18, and the team FT pct is just 63.7%.
Sorry, I just needed to vent.

Threloff, Highsmith, Orris and Johnson all will be better than Bowie. Bowie is doing ok, but is undersized and only has one move. Bowie always spins and then banks it in. I believe a line-up of Rakocevic, Threloff, Bowie and two guards would be hard for MAC teams to handle.

Needs to make free throws but by Senior year could average a double / double.

I don't picture Rako and Threloff on the floor together. Transition would be a nightmare.

You must not have seen any games. Threloff and Rakocevic have played at the same time in several games also earlier in the year 6'10 Maric would be on the court with one of them.

Bowie will be all-conference before he is done. He's a workhorse Who pounds the boards and run the floor better than any other huskie. He may well average a double double by next year. He and Highsmith are the best bets to get to the rim off the bounce.
A lineup of DB, Dontell, Orris, Tree, and Armstead (either one) or Johnson Will be pretty damn good next year. Marin, baker and balls Will be big contributors off the bench. With big Pete and both grays coming back The Huskies will again have the size to match up with anybody.
As far as a star in the making Dontel should be that guy but Darrell should give him a run for his money DB's senior year

Next year, starters: Orris, Highsmith, Johnson, Bowie and Threloff. Back-ups all capable of starting: Baker. Aaron Armstead, Aaric Armstead, Kevin Gray and Rakocevic. Not a lot of minutes for Balls, Cravatta as 3pt specialist, not a lot of minutes for Keith Gray and Maric will get some minutes at center. I believe this team will challenge for a MACC.

If he keeps it up, Highsmith could be a star. 10 points in I think 4 games in a row.

Not to nitpick or anything, but it's 4 of the last 5 he's gone double digits.

In terms of Highsmith, I don't think it was really any question whether he would be a star, just how quick is it going to unfold is really all that is in question
