UCF returns 10k tickets to Fiesta Bowl
They only sold 7.5k of their 17.5k tickets. Figuring it's their first, last and only BCS bowl game, you'd think people would travel.

I guess though this is what happens when a school in Orlando with a young alumni base gets sent to Arizona..... If only there was a BCS bowl in Florida that could of taken them.

One of my buddies from UCF has been posting on Facebook for the past week trying to get rid of a ticket he has since his GF is no longer going... Sounds like he'll have to post it to Craigslist/Stub Hub.

Young alumni base is correct, but with a 55,000+ enrollment and the first BCS game in school history, you'd figure it'd sell out pretty quickly.

I won't throw stones. Fiesta is tough.

I made the nonstop 20 hour drive to Miami with a couple guys splitting gas and a rental....if it was a $1,000 plane ticket to get there, not sure if I would have gone.

Actually they have only sold 5,000. They sent back 10k, but they held onto 2,500 thinking they could sell those in the next few days.

I can't knock them at all either, that is an expensive trip.

I went to the Orange and Sugar but I could never have afforded a cross country flight on 3 weeks notice. I think we would have struggled similarly if we ever had to go to Fiesta.

Here's a update on their ticket situation.

A 3.4 million dollar bill stings.

Great for us living here in AZ if we want to catch a bowl game. K-State/Michigan tickets are flooding the market as well. A few years ago we went and bought some tickets from scalpers for the WVU/OU Fiesta Bowl. $25 a piece for 30 yard line in the club level purchased outside the stadium in a "scalper's bullpen" set up by the bowl organizers.

Would have loved to see us in Arizona this year, but not if it was going to cost our athletic department millions.
