Men's basketball back in action tomorrow
I think the game is vs. Northwood and it's an 11 am start but I could be wrong on both accounts. I do know we play an early game tomorrow and the women play Friday at 1 pm vs. Houston.

I was wondering if Coach Braun might have used the layoff to tweak his starting lineup a bit. Keith Washington has been playing very well lately so it might be time to move him back into the starting five and put freshman Marcus Jackson back on the bench (not a knock against Jackson because there will be some taller teams we play against where we will need to start him over Washington but I do think Jackson will need a year in the weight room to get stronger to go up against tougher competition).

The other change I'd personally consider is Ross Wilson for Seth Gearhart. Seth is really struggling from the field this year (31.6 percent) and Wilson looked really good in the overtime versus South Alabama. He was hurt for the previous four games but I think an inside combination of Obi and Wilson will be more effective than Obi/Gearhart. All of our big guys tend to get in foul trouble so all three will play quite a bit regardless.

It's an 11:30 start. Strange time to play, but I understand there will be a lot of school kids at the game. I agree with Washington and Wilson getting starts. Both have shown a lot of improvement over last year. We have to get someone else to get rebounds besides Obi and Guercy. I think Seth is getting his PT because of his D. At times he's deadly with his 3, but others he's ice cold. Wilson is more of a presence inside.

FYI:

Gearhart is 13/42 (.310) from 3-point range, and 5/15 (.333) inside the arc. He's taken the team's second highest number of 3-point shots and has the 4th highest percentage.

Ramljak leads the team with 34/74 (.459 - #37 in the country) treys. (He's 4/12 (.333) for 2-pointers).

Per the game notes, Ross will likely be limited tomorrow due to a knee injury. I don't know if that means something new since the USA game, as he seemed back (or close) to full strength then.

On the whole, I still would like to see Seth getting more early PT than Ross; I think he's more versatile on both ends of the court. That said, we can't afford the type of cold streaks he has been prone to this year.

That early? I worry about a lot of those kids getting restless before the game. They do sound pretty excited on the radio.
