There is a difference between good, bad, very bad, and absolutely abhorrent losses. A lot of these bracketology type websites rank the losses accordingly.

If UAB loses tomorrow, which I hope they don't, other losses won't matter. UAB will have to win the C-USA tournament, IMHO.

I agree with Kev. The only other scenario I can think of is a clean sweep in conference and a good showing in the conference tournament.

Agreed. Based on Frenchy's RPI data, we would have to pull a Memphis and go undefeated throughout conference play. That's just about impossible.

I have to be in my field of work. You never know what these youngsters may be trying to slide by you with this text lingo.

I think even with a loss Saturday if we can go 14-2 while avoiding bad losses and make a run to the conference finals, we'd at least have an argument. It is definitely not a place I'd want to be, but to say if we lose Saturday we have not shot is a bit much in my opinion. We don't even know what the bubble is going to look like this year, it's far too early to say a 3rd loss basically ends our season outside of winning the conference tourney.

From another thread.

I would not worry about the rankings unless it's for fun. If we take care of business like we should it will all shake out. If we deserve to be in most likely we will get in. If not if we go to New York in the NIT that will be a fun trip too. I plan on enjoying the ride wherever it takes us.

That said I think we can win this league if we stay healthy and we keep improving.

The palm prediction tells me they think UAB & USM in the championship game with USM winning and UAB gets an at large. I'm good with that too.

Enjoy the ride and don't stress over the RPI. It will work itself out.
