RE: No more Tuke?
See ya later, don't let the door hit you on the way out! SE Missouri St has had three losing seasons in a row. I really hope this doesn't turn out like the Lou West era at Indiana St. Onto the bigger question. Who do we pick for next season, what conference should we start shoping at for our new coach?? Do we poach a DL coach from the SEC or Big 10, or do we look for a DC from an FCS conference?? My vote is to poach from schools like S Carolina St, N Dakota St, Bethune Cookman, Western IL, Drake, or Liberty. Those are some of the top defensive schools in FCS. When does our OC hit the road???(too soon on this one?)

Congratulations to Coach Tuke! Best wishes. I seem to recall that's a beautiful part of the country and there's a lot of football talent in the neighboring states.

Congratulations Tuke.

His predecessor had a base salary of $125,000 AFTER he won FCS Head Coach of the Year award. His prior base salary was $96k.

So this isn't a move for the money.

Either he wasn't welcome here or he is confident he is capable of turning them into a winner fast and get a bigger job.

Longterm goal is a major HC position. It is another stop along that highway.

RE: No more Tuke?
If this is all true, many times the former head coach "helps" an assistant or coordinator find a new job instead of "letting" them go, case in point, Lou West.
Don't be surprised if you see ohio's, sorry I mean ohio state's, d coordinator coaching somewhere else next year, maybe even as a head coach.

I wonder if there is a defensive position coach from Alabama or LSU that we can steal...

Chances are he will come from Mt. Union.

Hope not. Too many coaches from one school limits your creativity. Also no matter how good a DIII school is, it's still DIII.

My joke missed the mark...I've had it with hiring buddies. Bring in the best candidate and get the D going.

Your joke didn't miss the mark but I agree, if he hires from Mt. Union, I'm going to be pissed...

RE: No more Tuke?
Why did we even hire a coordinator who was only here for 1 year? Why was he even hired?

RANTUS RECTRACTUS
I was watching the news tonight and it was mentioned that Tuke was here for two seasons. I was like, "Wha????" Then I remembered the Fire Tuke thread from last year. I had totally forgotten that he was DC last season. Time flies when you're havin' fun I guess.

Ryan Autullo ‏@AutulloBlade Wrote:Safeties coach Bryce Saia is leaving with Matukewicz, I am told.

Get Andy Boyd back in here to coach the safeties if he would do it. He was a great FS. He's smart and is a quality individual.

Norrils has the best cover skills for a corner at UT I've seen in a while. But he never looks back for the ball.
