I see our Mayor at many baseball games, but not football. Perhaps she's in the R Room or Stadium Club ?

Well it is "Rice Owls Day", not "Rice Football Day".

I don't remember it, but I can't believe the NC team wasn't honored by a 'day'... They got a parade and visited the White House.

Football is king in Texas, not baseball. A very deserving acknowledgement by the county! Does anyone here think we'll have a chance to make the cover of Texas Football Magazine next spring?

Good point. It also is the price you pay for being on top consistently; it can be taken for granted.

Yeah, I am pretty sure there was some event outside City Hall to honor the 2003 CWS champs, and proclaim it Rice Owl Day, or something to that effect.

It may however be true that the Harris County Commissioners never have tipped their collective cap to the Owl baseball team.

But, arguing over the distinction of being honored by city government vs. county government is indeed pretty silly.

I called commissioners court and am going by tomorrow to pick up a copy of the resolution.
They cannot email or fax it!!

I've never seen her in the Stadium Club...and it's no so big that you miss many folks.

Edit: To be fair, I only go up before kick-off and maybe during halftime. If she camps out during the game, then she needs to come down stairs and get loud.
