They mean Greenville, SC to be specific. I did my part to contribute to being #2 all year.

RE: Top 25 Markets for College Football (ESPN Networks)
Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems to be measuring passion in a particular DMA by just taking the number of TVHHs tuned and then divide that by the total number of TVHHs in the DMA.

If I'm correct, then what exactly does this tell us?

If one were to take the information in this article, the actual number of TVHHs viewing and contributing to the overall rating of the programming would be as follows:

1. Atlanta - 74459
2. Birmingham - 66013
3. Dallas-FW - 51760
4. Tampa-St. Pete - 46971
5. Orlando - 39236
6. Nashville - 33492
7. Charlotte - 32956
8. Columbus - 30778
9. New Orleans - 27587
10. Raleigh - 24277
11. Knoxville - 22919
12. Kansas City - 22352
13. Memphis - 21873
14. Jacksonville - 21753
15. Louisville - 21570
16. Oklahoma City - 20126

The remaining 9 are contributing less than 20K TVHHs to the overall ratings.

Again, not sure what this is truly trying to measure. Obviously, if I'm a local advertiser in the areas from this article, then I would want to pay top dollar for a slot in those areas, but if I'm Coke, McDees, etc., I'm not swayed by these numbers.

I'm sure there is some meaning in this that I am missing.

Cheers,
Neil

Nashville is a big place for football - you've got the Knoxville State Hillbillies with unfortunate statewide support, the hometown Candy Dorks, and the MT Raiders with a large alumni base too.
