Congrats to Tampa in particular. They were the only challenges to Dallas for next year's game. Persistence pays off!

2017- Atlanta and Phoenix SF and Tampa title game.
2016- Miami and Dallas SF and Phoenix title game
2015- New Orleans and Pasadena SF and Dallas title game

means 1st title game for Pasadena or New Orleans wouldn't be until 2019 at the earliest(2018 they host sf)

Atlanta is in the mix for both of those years if their new stadium is open for business by then. Indy could bid for either year if they don't get a Super Bowl in one of those years.

2019 is another year in which neither semifinal is in the west, so it would make sense for Pasadena to bid for that year. Santa Clara probably won't be in the running unless the 49ers build parking garages near the stadium. The LA Coliseum is a possibility if USC gets its renovations done in the next five years.

I think that's how the Sugar and Rose wanted it.

Rose I could see, but Sugar? They'll have last hosted the title game in 2012- so a 7 year gap bare minimum. That's a pretty long time.

Why didn't they consider a site in NYC?

Biggest media market....

The Super Bowl will be just fine this year. NYC/NJ host large events and conventions all of the time. The area will not come to a standstill if there are a few inches of snow on the ground like Dallas and they are not gong to lose power like New Orleans did.

There will never be a cold weather championship game(unless it's at a place like a Tampa and they have an unusual cold snap. We won't ever see a title game played in Foxboro, Meadowlands, Pittsburgh, Philly, Chicago. Period. Not unless they built a dome.

How do you know they won't lose power? That was just a fluke thing in New Orleans. It's not a given that a subway won't crash or that the snow is tremendous. Or not. I will say that the game being in frigid conditions is a large probability.

I still have a hard time imagining fans traveling to 2 games in 10 days. Most will have to choose and the semis will be easier to plan for.

I'm extremely anti-union but what exactly does this comment mean? NYC still hosts a lot of events regardless.

It doesn't mean anything because it makes no sense. New York hosts more big events than almost any city in the world, the vast majority of which go on without a hitch. It can easily handle a Super Bowl.

I have no idea what the unions comment means- but doesn't change the fact. Given that there is no dome, NYC won't be hosting the title game. End of story.

Do NFL fans have a hard time traveling three straight weeks for their Super Bowl runs? No. It's the same deal. Fans will go to semi-finals...business sponsors will buy tickets for the championship games...and other fans--who didn't get to go to the semi-final but may be closer/more available/more excited about the final--will go to the final.

Attendance will be fine all around.

I fully suspect Minneapolis when their new Stadium is complete, San Francisco, Indianapolis and Houston to also be major players in getting to host the Title Game.

Was Minneapolis going to be a dome? Can't remember...

Totally agree with Indianapolis and Houston. Would probably add St Louis as well. Maybe Detroit. Not as sure about San Francisco.

RE: CFP announces 2016 and 2017 Championship Sites
The CFP can afford to be picky with locations. IMO they should stick with locations that have already proven to be a great place for such an event by successfully hosting a Super Bowl and/or a Final Four and getting good reviews for hosting.

Indy should be high on the list because they got rave reviews for their Super Bowl, and all the usual favorite cities for Super Bowls should be possible CFP sites as well.

Jacksonville was widely criticized as a Super Bowl host, and won't make the list for the CFP.

Places like Minneapolis or Detroit shouldn't be on the list until after they've had at least one Super Bowl or Final Four and done it well -- especially given that the game is in January, those cities need to prove that they can do as well as Indianapolis at entertaining the game attendees despite winter weather.

Uh, Detroit I know at least has had a final 4 within the last 5 years. Minneapolis did have both Super Bowl and Final 4 back in the 90's(last one for Joe Gibbs)
