That looks like it would be a solid get. Especially with losing Tommy and Da'Ron after next year.

True...but most on here are usually level headed. Than again, it is the interwebz and a message board so guess stupid is as stupid does.

Anyway, congratz on your guy winning the Heisman. Great year for him, especially as a freshman. Although I would've like to see what Lynch could do with that kind of talent around, nothing against our guys.

Exactly! Winston is a very good player, but he is surrounded by an outstanding team. How would he do with an average team where he had to depend on his skills alone?

Shouldn't the question be how would he do with an average team where he had to depend on his skills alone while NOT playing against top tier competition week in and week out?

A couple of other interesting/odd parallels between NIU and UND besides Dustin Adams and possibly Golladay:

The teams played each other in DeKalb a few years back and Rod Carey was on the visitor sideline that day as a UND assistant coach. (That game is known around here as the one where the Kill regime finally got their heads out of their behinds and put Harnish back under center after the DeMarcus DeBacle in Ames.)

One of UND's current QBs, Ryan Bartels, is from Sycamore where he was a teammate of Marckie Hayes.

UND and NIU are like sister schools.

It would be nice if we could replicate yours guys success. Have any stud assistants that would make good FCS head coaches? We are looking and have been without a coach for the last month. Also sounds like the Golladay rumor is true and he was packing his bags to head to NIU. Good get for you guys and I will sure to be cheering for you guys! Not sure if I mentioned it previously but he has not used his redshirt so he will still have two years of eligibility left for you guys.

Appreciate the kind words and I don't think it is crazy to say that if Lynch was the QB for FSU, we would probably still be playing for the title. For sure it would have helped him where he could have passed more and not had to be the entire rushing offense.

FSU is so good if winston gets hurt the back up is gonna go in there and do the same damm thing. Too bad Winston has to play another year he would be the #1 pick or at least top 3. The NFL needs that talent badly.

Winston could take a page from Gwolfe and be humble. His speech was bad bc it really didnt seem like it was from the heart, it was pure swagg. Im sure his teammates are fired up so in a way good for winston in his mind that was what is best.

The entire Harnish situation is still very odd.

What do you think really happened there? Was it a situation where he got in Kill's doghouse? Did they not get it with DeMarcus Grady until he actually stepped onto the field against Iowa State?

It's odd, but I've said this before and I believe yesman did as well.

According to multiple sources on the team, Harnish hadn't been prepped as the starter all camp. They didn't think he was healthy enough. Grady had all the reps and was going to start.

It wasn't because Harnish did anything wrong. I also doubt they wanted to throw Lynch in the fire like that immediately.

RE: Players transferring
So he magically was healed and ready to play a week later?

There was an article written with quotes from Harnish a few years back. He didn't take any reps with the ones in fall camp and Kill told him that he would have one shot and then they were going to move on to the next guy.

It was botched by Kill, plain and simple.

First off, I'm not defending Kill, I'm stating what was told to me by players.

I said they didn't think he was healthy enough. That doesn't mean he wasn't or that he healed magically.

All it says is there was misinformation going all around. They hadn't prepped him to play, so it's not like they were making the decision thinking Grady was better than Harnish. They made it on bad info and practice reps. He did botch it, but I'm saying that I think guys on the team have a better pulse than people on here.

I was at a couple of practices in fall camp that year and Harnish was running around like a colt out there. He was the best looking QB in the scrimmages I saw and he ran the ball really effectively. It was weird.

Who cares? Neither Kill or Harnish are with the Huskies anymore. Let's talk more about this "stud" receiver coming to the Huskies from UND.

This is funny, coming from the guy with the "open letter" thread about not being upset about the MACC loss and appreciating how well the Huskies have done. Just saying.

So 43 career receptions is a stud...
