MyBB WKU vs USM
This is setting up to be a pretty big game Wednesday night against two solid teams. With WKU getting some players back and USM only a single loss.......what's everybody's thoughts?

RE: WKU vs USM
This will be an indicator of how our season will go I predict. WKU has a fine program with rich history, and a USM win would be great. However, despite the 9-1 record, we have been underachieving so far. Too many turnovers, poor free throw shooting will lose games like this one most of the time, especially on the road. The way we have been playing would indicate a 7 point loss Wednesday. We''ll see.....

RE: WKU vs USM
We will have to play our best game of the season to win. Team isn't quite clicking yet. 9-1 because of a weak sauce schedule so far, but I think we will get better as the season progresses.

RE: WKU vs USM
Now that Harper has all his pieces this team should get much better. They struggled at home against Samford and lost road games to mediocre Bowling Green & Marshall before the 2 new players were here. Just lost by 16 to UofL despite shooting only 36% and our offensive efficiency was 105 which is the highest against Louisville since Syracuse last season. The rest of the season looks bright but there will be struggles of course but expect of good amount of W's along the way. USM has played 1 good team and handful of decent teams and a few cupcakes so it should be a good game. I give the Toppers the edge since the game is in Diddle but would not be surprised if we lose a close one.

WKU has played some pretty good competition and is battle-tested. USM on the other hand, has played an extremely weak schedule and was blown out by their only tough opponent (UL) on the road. So I will say advantage WKU especially since the game is at WKU.

I watched WKU play Louisville on Saturday. I think WKU takes this game.

We beat NDSU on the road in a sold-out arena in which was called their biggest home game in years.

NDSU just beat Notre Dame at their place. They got blown out by Ohio State, but that was expected.

I'm excited because I think it's going to be on that network we shouldn't say here and I could actually view it.

All of WKU's games are on ESPN3 I believe, so having them join the conference will be a great asset in that regard.

And I think USM beat Drexel as well. I still believe WKU is little more battle-tested though.

Yes WKU produces a radio/tv simlucast in which most games are on ESPN 3 and a few are on ESPN Full Court, including this game Wed...Most WKU fans are hoping when we join CUSA< we go back to a few seasons ago where all of our games were on TV on FoxCollgeSports Central or Atlantic......

All but a handful are on espn3. Hopefully with our entry into CUSA we can get our basketball games back on FSC-Atlantic or maybe even onto something like CBSSN FS2. Getting back onto national TV all season would be great.

Well Charlotte has 9 or 10 nationally televised games this year (not counting any games in the CUSA tournament that may be nationally televised), which is more than we ever had in a far better conference. Hopefully Fox and CBS continue to give us good television coverage a few years from now.

In total, I think a minimum of 23 of our games are on television this year, which is really amazing considering we are used to having 4 or 5.

Drexel would be a very good win. They are a very talented team.

am expecting good games from both WKU and Drexel....USM needs to win one of these two to expect at-large consideration assuming a few conference losses max

yeah, little room for error in this conference. Any losses in conference would probably have to be to other top 3 or 4 teams to keep yourself in consideration for an at-large. Same goes for UAB and Charlotte.

I'm not sure anyone else realistically has a shot at an at large, and I believe Charlotte's chance for one goes away if we go 0-2 against FSU and GT.

RE: WKU vs USM
HSSN (Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network) is the WKU run broadcast. WKU PBS actually owns a state of the art HD truck for broadcasting games. ESPN contracts them all of the time to travel and do broadcasts for them. They have done everything from helping with monday night football games, to Major League Lacrosse. Helps having one of the top broadcasting schools in the country to get your games televised in some form. Until Wright Waters (former Sun Belt commish) gave WKU a big FU on his exit by making the Tops cancel their broadcast deal with Fox College Sports where every single game home and away was televised. So that we could have all of our games on ESPN3 with the Sun Belt deal. Yes WKU still gets 2-4 games a year on ESPN2 or ESPNU. But the reach we had with FCS was better then ESPN3.
