PLAY FOR CRONIN
Be honest.

If you had a child or grandchild who was being recruited by numerous D-1 head coaches, after what we have witnessed the last six years, by that I mean very little development in his total group of players, would you honestly let them play for him.

I know this is a topic that has been beaten around the bush for years.... I never knocked the guy before because I knew he had a tough job to rebuild and he loves the school... but... it is just time for us to go a different direction with the head coach. It just is.

I couldn't agree more, unfortunately.

I'm not overreacting, I've been saying all preseason that this team isn't that good. Not my fault people didn't listen lol.

No overreaction, legitimate question, very few players seem to improve under Cronin.

My mom wanted me to play for Knight or Huggins, but I was an undersized undersized PF.

Well, in that case my answer to your question would be yes. For a coach that apparently can't recruit, can't develop players, and can't coach he sure does win his share of games. I'd have no problem watching my son/grandson play in NCAA tournament games.

Fair enough.

RE: PLAY FOR CRONIN
I see some real talent in our freshman class. The seniors, not so much. SK is not playing well, because he has no point guard. Jackson is 110 effort and not a D1 starter. He is a bench spark plug you send in with fresh legs to spell the starter. I never thought this team was a top team this year, but give the underclassmen another year and I think this is a good team. I believe we win the next two games and do well in the AAC. The sky is not falling, yet.

This thread is the very definition of overreaction.

RE: PLAY FOR CRONIN
Cronin is kind of Minter-like. He took us as far as he could, got us back to mediocre/respectable but he isn't going to get us to the next level. I think we need to move on. A P5 conference will give us the $ to buy a next level coach.

I honestly cannot believe you just compared Mick to Rick Minter. That's honestly mindboggling. If anyone thinks UC can afford a better coach than Mick you are delusional.

A former radio personality in this town said the same thing when Minter was fired.

Names? Even if we could afford someone better, who is out there that we can realistically get that will take us next level?
