MT vs. Navy
The weather conditions were horrible, that's true, but I was very impressed with Kennan Reynolds and Navy's ground game. Decent option attack, as well. They didn't need it today against an inept Army team, but Reynolds can throw a bit too, so you will have to do more than stuff the run.

Has MT played an option team this year?

We've struggled with the option historically.

FBS record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. Not too bad.

If they are one dimensional, I believe we will win. I think we stuff the QB but not certain about what we will do once that happens...I hope our DB's are ready.

We beat GT just last year, but I'm not going to claim that'll help this year's team much.

I don't know what to expect.

The Navy QB is from Antioch (SE Nashville) and there are 4 others, IIRC, from the Nashville area on the Navy roster.

RE: MT vs. Navy
Navy's strength this season was their ability to throw the ball a bit. They get nearly 100 yards a game. That's 95 yards than most Navy teams. The biggest thing about the TO is lane discipline. your MLB HAS TO STUFF THE DIVE. If your DL and MLB can stuff the dive, you are in good shape to have the numbers on the boot/sweep combo. Once on the outside if you stick to your defensive assignments and make 1 on 1 tackles in the open field, you are set. Reynolds was very impressive for Navy before he met his commander in chief Andrew Jackson.

Haven't seen mtsu at all so no clue what you have. All of Navy's losses came against good teams. ND, WKU, Duke and Toledo (worst loss and was in OT), they average 36 ppg and give up 26. MTSU gets 30ppg and gives up 26. So you will have to be a little bit better than you have this year t this point.

If a crappy Western KY team in the Sun Belt can beat them. I don't see us having much of a problem.

RE: MT vs. Navy
Should be a good game & festive few days for the Middle Tennessee team and their fans. If I can I'm going to try to attend the game.

How many MT fans do yall anticipate coming to Texas? Of course you do know, we multi-generational Texans have a special place in our hearts for Tennesseans.04-cheers

North Texas hosted Navy a few years ago at our old stadium and there were a whole bunch of Middies at that game. The pre-game flyover after the Star Spangled Banner was very moving.

Fort Worth is more about old Texas than Big D. Your players will love going to a very night life active downtown FW; also to Billy Bobs Texas near the historic FW Stock Yards. Stock Yards Station is a series of western oriented shops near Billly Bobs Texas--also called the worlds largest honky tonk. Some of country's music biggest stars perform there regularly.

Over near UNT Health Science Center off Camp Bowie Boulevard is what the locals call the Cultural District. Several museums located there and among those is the Amon Carter Museum which has some great collections of western bronzes and paintings with a few Russell's and Remington originals among them.

Your team and fans will enjoy their trip to Cowtown, USA!

RE: MT vs. Navy
I'd be shocked if we had more than a few thousand. It's always hard to get a read on bowl games as the time off between games and the effect of seniors playing their last game is a tough thing to measure. I could easily see our offense having their best day of the year, but wouldn't be shocked if we totally laid an egg.

I do think our matchup with Navy has potential to be one of the best of the bowl season.

I will be there with a couple of others. I think we've sold just under 2k tickets as of now to the bowl directly through the university, and I bet a lot of tickets have been bought through StubHub/Ticketmaster too. I think we'll have a good crowd, and I'd appreciate any UNT or other CUSA Texas school fans that do show up.

Go Blue Raiders!

The key to beating Navy is to score first and make them play from behind. NAVY is not built to take chances and play from behind. I think MT win by 13 points
