I'm sure I do, but I doubt they're the ones taking stupid shots and not defending the 3

RE: Tonight's Refs
Made no difference in the end. The score came out about what it should based on how both teams played. There were some bad calls both ways. Shaq traveled twice with no call. We all have a tendency to notice the bad calls against us and not the ones we get away with. Human nature I guess.

Why in the world should be complaining about the refs against UALR?

One really bad sequence. Shaq dunks, gets fouled and they take the points away. Neighbors walks and throws up an airball and a foul is called on Shaq.

Refs in general have driven me a little crazier this year. There is such an emphasis on stopping the touch fouls that they allow a lot of mugging underneath the basket. It just looks kind of stupid.

Just don't argue with him. That will hurt him more than smacking him in the face.

I'm not aware of anyone on this board who has the 'bare knuckle' credentials of 'maniac.

Don't be an ignant homer....Shaq had his hand on the rim and was pulling it down before the ball went through the rim. There was no question that the basket should not count. They called the foul and let him shoot two free throws...

Mairving is one of the most thoughtful and even keeled posters on here. Him seeing something different than what you saw doesn't in any way make him ignorant.

You are somewhat right, but, what really happened was...

Shaq was going for the dunk, the foul made his arm jerk and lose the ball, which went high off the glass

His arm still came in like a dunk, and he held on because the fouling player was under him

Then the ball fell through the hoop which it would have done anyway

Did Shaq attempt to interfere with the cylinder to create an offensive advantage? No. All of that was the result of the foul.

By the rule and aside from common sense, they made the "correct" call.

In context, they screwed it up.

Refs in general have driven me a little crazier this year. There is such an emphasis on stopping the touch fouls that they allow a lot of mugging underneath the basket. It just looks kind of stupid.

He was hanging on the rim. The ball bounced way up, he grabbed the rim, then the ball came down and went through.

Did he affect the ball? No.

Was he hanging on the rim "legally", i.e., to keep from being undercut and crashing to the floor? Yes.

But, I guess it's a technicality and they have to call it that way. No problem whatsoever with that call. However, with a bunch of others . . .

the "foul" call on Pellom when the UALR player stepped away from him and shot. and possibly walked in doing so

Shaq's 2nd foul when he had his hands down and didn't touch the guy at all

etc.

They were consistently bad all night! But we didn't come to play until the 15 minute mark of the second half.
