Belk Tix Sales Update?
Any update on where we are on tix sales? Looking at the Belk site, the entire lower level behind UNC's bench is sold out. Means they have sold a bunch plus tix not through the school. Curious how things are going on our end.

Tickets behind benches rarely are allocated to the teams in bowl games. Those are probably bowl controlled and a large portion are given to sponsors. Even when we got our tickets through a very large donor to UC last eyar we were on the 15 yard line in the club section. But we moved to mid-field after half time when all the sponsor seats left early.

No doubt UNC is going to bring a decent crowd.... Charlotte is 85 miles from Chapel Hill and UNC has a ton of alums and t-shirt fans.

The only thing I have heard as it pertains to UC is that we sold out a student bus trip in minutes (750 people) and apparently there is a waiting list due to the demand for more tickets. Hopefully they do what they need to do to bus more students down there.

We sold that out due to the fact that the presidents office subsidized the bus trip for every student. A ticket, round trip bus ride, and hotel for a night only ran $30/person. Our president loves these students.

Plus they had a bowl suspension last year. They are pumped to be going bowling anywhere.

It's going to be a much more partisan crowd than last year. Duke is a small, private school with little football interest or tradition. They still turned out a good crowd in Charlotte. UC had a strong contingent of fans as well but will be outnumbered big-time this year. My hope is for a solid 10,000 to 15,000 for Cincy to make some noise and rally the team. If so, it won't quite be a home game for UNC. Proximity means a lot.

RE: Belk Tix Sales Update?
Bowls need to resolve the ticketing system. The teams get allocated crappy tickets. The good tickets all seem to be on Stubhub, Vivid Seats, etc.

I am one of the top 500 UCATS Donors and still had horrible seats allocated to me for PapaJohns, Orange and Sugar Bowl.

Finally I said enough. At the Liberty Bowl I bought 45 yard seats for $50 each. Last year I had 45 yard Club seats for $75. This year I had to pay $127 for 45 yard Club Seats. Bought from Stubhub and Vivid. I wish to make us look good but I also want to see the game.

To offset I buy 2 students tickets.

If our group is reflective of the UC turnout overall, we will have more. Last year we had 4 of us go. This year we have 18 people.

I do think the crowd will be larger this year:

1) There were quite a few fans who couldn't make it due to adverse weather.

2) UNC is a more appealing opponent than Duke in football. Yes, Duke had a great year this year and beat the Tar Heels head to head; but the more casual football fan does not take Duke seriously in football.

3) UC isn't going through the coaching turmoil. Despite Tuberville being hired quickly after BJ bailed, there were still many who harbored images of the 2010 Sugar Bowl were the team had a skeleton coaching crew.

4) Unless conference realignment rightens the ship for UC, this will likely be our last chance in playing at the Belk Bowl. Barring an undefeated season, we won't likely see a P5 opponent in a bowl for a while (aside for a team that finished 9th in the conference).

And the main reason is the game is on a Saturday this year. That allows people to travel easier and not take off work.

A December 23 article in the Winston-Salem Business Journal said UNC sold 7,000 of its allotment.

Thats awesome. If that is accurate I gurantee that less than 30% of college football fanbases could bring this many fans to a Bowl of this caliber. We might not have the big number fanbase like OSU or Texas or whoever but when you look at our inner core fanbase of probably 25K it would be hard to top the passion from those people anywhere.
