EMU New Coach
Eastern Michigan: Chris Creighton has a 5 year deal worth $400,000 annually.

quite a hefty salary for a guy with no D1 experience. I wonder if he does not get it done, if EMU will drop down

RE: EMU New Coach
Slightly more than their last coach but still probably one of the ten lowest in all of FBS with I am guessing half of the MAC. I just read Narduzzi is looking at an increase to north of $750K and possibly pushing a million. As more money flows into the P5 coffers it is going to be tough to attract top coordinators down to the MAC level going forward unless the MAC changes its spending ways.

Comments in the past by Steinbracher said it will be a while before a MAC team pays a coach north of a million. Should be interesting to see what happens whens you have MWC, CUSA, AAC, and Sun Belt teams all with coaches above a million (or soon to be) and the MAC is still running in the $400K range.

Tuke is in the running for the HC job at SW Mizzu St.

Ball St OC has left to be the HC at Elron.

Good luck to Tuke, I hope that he gets the opportunity to fulfill his dream of becomming a HC. I will never forget what he did for our program and how he did it. The man is a class act.

Coaches who want to be head coaches will make the move. Coaches who are good with making a great living as assistants will keep on keeping on. Same as it's ever been.

Originally (2-3 years ago) I wasn't for EMU moving down because we've been that bad before, but at this point it has only gotten worse. I think it might be time if this is a big flop. Feel bad for them, but they are really hurting the MAC especially with strength of schedule playing into the new playoff for football. UMASS I can handle because I see a much bigger upside for them.

Slightly disagree, based on the way spending habits seems to be unfolding the MAC will be looking much more at FCS types and maybe position coaches. The OC and DC types will hold out for higher paying head coach jobs. Naruduzzi will be making over double our head coach, he doesn't need to take a MAC job as someone else will through more toward him at some point. The gap will only get wider. Asking someone to go from making a million plus to $400K is a big jump. For now, the gap is much more manageable but wait until more money goes into the system.

The biggest difference between UMass and EMU is money. UMass has the money to invest in its program should it chose to, EMU not so much. No one cares about athletics there and even their own fans, the few that remain, often question why they continue to try and play football at the FBS level. Many would prefer the money go into academics.

The proposed stipends and such are designed to squeeze the EMUs out of the system. Either pony up or drop down. I for one think if things do unfold the way they are heading much of the MAC will on the ropes as it seems the preferred cut is in that 70 - 100 or so team range. 70 coaches currently make north of a million. In the mix out of the G5 is the a couple MWC and AAC programs. CUSA and Sun Belt are close to hitting it and the Belt could push above a million with Ark States next hire. The MAC is sitting at $500K as its top dog. The gap will continue to grow.

Wonder if Lembo will not get the promotion he so desires? And good luck to Tuke and to the new EMU guy.

I believe it is actually SEMO that Tuke is looking at. That would be a great fit for him, hope he gets it.

I instantly started thinking of "L Ron Hubbard" when I saw Elron. That has to be Elon.

Toledo fans will rejoice if Tuke gets that job
