Ward, Progar, Jefferson, Baxter, Tyrone, Bass, Durante...

Aren't all the LBs other than bass Doerens? And also the secondary that got burnt Moore faustin Doerens?

Correct me if I'm wrong

Santa is a Kill recruit. You can kinda argue that Boomer is as well because he was committed for the 2011 class before Kill left.

As for the corners, Evans is a Kill recruit. Faustin, Moore, and Logan are all Doeren.

Faustin is a senior. He was recruited by Kill.

He was a JC recruit from Doeren's first class in 2011.

All joking aside there's no question Kill did the best he could during the time he was here. Did he make some bad decisions? Of course, who doesn't. He has his supporters and detractors... We all do. He continued the model program Coach Novak established that led to our last three seasons and he was rewarded with a promotion and a big raise.

I was at a "get together" once and he jokingly said to another member of his staff that he is waiting for that Colorado job to open up so he and his staff can move out there. He obviously said it as a joke, but I firmly believe (especially from that comment) that since the moment he arrived here he was waiting for the next big gig. I guess he should be as we all want to better our careers, but I wasn't impressed with the comment.

Still, I liked the guy in the sense he did bring some good recruits (and some flops) and he seemed to bring a positive "hard working" attitude to the team. Can't blame the guy for wanting better.

Definitely something that should be kept in the coaches office -- not where supporters of the program can hear it but maybe it was to a staffer who wasn't having the best time in DeKalb. How can you not have fun in DeKalb?

Frank Lenti gets the credit on Lynch to NIU. It was the 3rd MC guy he had sent in the last 10 years. We had a RB who was an idoit in 03 and got a DL who really didnt do much. NIU realized that it didn't have much of a relationship with the catholic league which it needed to have.

Jerry Kill would have to be a complete dumb*** to not listen to Lenti. U of I has spring practice at gately and employes Lenti's son on staff. That is how much people respect the man and its helped turn around the illni's relationship with HC's in IL.

Jerry Kill I think is getting a kid outta MC as well as PJ. Its a great spot for hard working and smart players. Lenti will send us a good one again next year.

Fast RBs make excellent secondary players. It sure looks like that would be an excellent move if Smith is open to it. It would help the team tremendously. Maybe that's why they took the red shirt off him.

I believe smith was pegged to be a CB until depth was challenged at RB

We should have all sorts of depth at RB: Stingily, Daniels, Spencer, Harris, the freshmen.
If Smith is open to switching and if another big RB is willing to move to LB, we may have found some playmakers. Smith certainly looks like a baller from his limited time in action.

Can you imagine if Wolfe was moved to CB? He would have been amazing. Of course we're all glad that didn't happen.

If Miller does come back, he'd be a candiate to move to the secondary. He was an amazing defensive player in basketball. He'd be a ball-hawker. We're pretty set at receiver and I think Charlie would pick things up quickly from a defensive standpoint.
