Yup. Even Georgia and other SEC teams having problems, empty seats everywhere.

That is just the sign of the beginning of the end of all the money that is coming into FBS football programs. They grew and grew, had all kinds of success and decided to start changing their product. Just like NASCAR did. With all the conference changes, fans don't like losing the traditional rivals, and now talking of paying players, college football is in the middle of a huge change and it will end badly for the schools that feasting on all the attention and money from football.

Yup....
College football is an economic bubble. It'll pop at some point.

Also there is a generational change from even 7-10 years ago. Students now live in a far more technical, online world. If they don't have wifi and a 40 inch screen they are going to lose interest fast. It's a more cynical generation for whom school school spirit is a bit too 1994.

Not sure cynical is right word or that they don't have school spirit. Maybe they're just less interested in football. Nothing wrong with that.

But yeah, technology is definitely making things different.

Not overflowing, we also play in a stadium that is currently bigger then our program. Hopefully we will catch up, or get that OCS that is of better size for us.

There seems to be conference wide avoidance of playing SBC schools in CUSA. Former Members are avoiding us entirely, and the older members seem content with one team each.

I know ASU has found it virtually impossible to get a CUSA team to play us. Though I imagine no one would voluntarily want to load up with ASU or ULL right now.

It's no surprise that there is a conference wide avoidance going on. They claim superiority over the SBC yet we keep beating them on the field. Best way to avoid losing to an SBC team, don't play an SBC team.

UTSA(CUSA) is 4-1 vs teams that are now in the SBC

And you are 1 of 12 teams. Wasn't pointing out an individual school but the conference as a whole.

UAB vs GaSt is a perfect matchup. Aside from their geographic proximity, the two programs have much in common with their tradition, attendance, fan bases, and hometown support. I think the two schools should play annually at the neutral site of Finley Stadium in Chattanooga.

The game could answer the philosophical question: "If two college teams play a football game and no one watches, did it happen?"

So...basically you've beaten Texas State, Georgia State, and South Alabama?

If you want to play...tell your AD to call our AD. Then we'll be able to truly assess your abilities against a Sun Belt team that isn't transitioning.

It's like 2.5 hours away from each other. I wonder if the teams will even opt for a hotel to save some money...

UAB stays at a hotel before home games, so I know they will get at least one night in Atlanta.

What it likely means for both schools is that you can do a Friday walkthrough on your own field and stay at a hotel in your own city and then bus over the 2.5 hours on Saturday.

I don't understand why Uab doesn't want to continue the series. Some great games between us...

And with Uab having attendance issues. They need Troy.

Our last game at your house brought an announced attendance of nearly 30,000...one of the top attendances games in Uab history are games with Troy at home.... Here lately you have averaged 6k at home...

I don't understand why Uab doesn't want to continue the series. Some great games between us...

Remember that UA-Tuscaloosa and UA- Birmingham have the same BOT. UAB is the buffer between Troy and USA equalizing with UAT. If you Troy and USA pass UAB on the pecking order...well then you are vying for attention with UAT.

It is a nice day trip for USA fans as well. The distance between the schools is 250 miles. Plus all the revenue stays in the state.

Note: It is 148 miles between UAB and Ga State.

Its a very short trip between our two schools. The closet FBS schools to us are in order...

Georgia Tech 1.5 miles
Georgia 70 miles
Clemson 123 miles
UAB 148 miles
Troy 181 miles
Alabama 204 miles
Georgia Southern 207 miles
Tennesee 212 miles
Charlotte 250 miles
