Amazing. Thank you, coach!

I was just thinking this.
I cannot remember hearing of a coach in any sport doing this
He rules

Phil Fulmer gave UT 1 million and they fired him.

shoulda won more games

They'd take him back in a heartbeat.

As an aside, both Bobby Knight and Joe Paterno have given large sums of money to their Universities. In the case of Joe Paterno, it was multiple millions of dollars.

Those are two I know of off the top of my hear.

In hindsight with Paterno, the only similarity between him and Josh I would like to see is he (Josh) would be employed at Memphis for as many years as was Paterno at Penn State, 1950 to 2011. Coach Pastner very much reminds me of Gene Bartow.

Memphis coach Josh Pastner made a $250,000 donation to the athletic department, the school announced. Largest "gift" by a Memphis coach.

Other than a SnoCone machine, I thought Cal would have donated at least this much to the school, as much as he was making.

didn't Cal give some type of gift to the university during the middle of his era here?

X pledged a tidy sum for community aid to be paid over 4 years if memory is working properly. I don't remember any being given to the U of M for any cause but that does not mean he didn't. Regardless if X ever gave any money to the university, when it comes to being a class act he will never compare to Josh Pastner.

For some reason I think Cal gave money to the Library. I may be wrong or misremembering, but I believe I remember something about him going on and on about 'we have this beautiful building but there's no books in it'. I want to say it was in the early to middle part of his time here.

I may be wrong about this.

Calipari has made several financial contributions to the University and has been honored by the Friends of the Ned McWherter Library on the U of M campus. In April of 2004, Calipari and his family made a $100,000 contribution to help endow athletic scholarships at the University. He also presented the university a check for $40,000 which resulted from a partnership between Calipari and Pace Cooper, president and CEO of Cooper Companies, the owner of Cal's Championship Steakhouse in the Doubletree East Memphis.

Cal was going to be fined $1 million by Ken Bennett.
